I am a content editor and this channel is the best place to learn how to play these songs for ppl that are just starting or novice players and that’s a large demographic of people so I really appreciate ur work and would love to see if we could get ur numbers up man . Not even pitching u I genuinely would like to see what could be done . Keep up the grind

After watching and learning from your videos for a while I’ve started coming up with my own covers from chord charts on the internet like you showed in a previous video! This is one I’ve been doing. Yours is, of course, more comprehensive and better than what I’ve come up with but it’s still a cool benchmark of my progress. Thanks for continuing to teach us!

That is really, really great to hear. That is absolutely my hope and why I often go into my thought process while I teach rather than just "showing" people how to play the notes of a song...I really want people to make that leap of confidence of learning these songs themselves (the same way I do before I teach them). So, congrats !!

Hi Nate, here's a little fact for you about 'Your song'. My nephew's degree thesis was about the arrangements on Elton's album 'Elton John' which featured 'Your song'. He spoke for many hours with the arranger, Paul Buckmaster, gathering facts and information. One of the facts was that Buckmaster's arrangement of 'Your song' was deliberately arranged in a way to offset Elton's piano inversions. For example, in the chorus...Elton plays... ...Bb/d And you can tell ... Cm/Eb.. everybody Fm this is your.. Ab song Paul said that he arranged around the route while Elton's piano played the first inversion for the first two chords. Elton also played the first inversion Bb/d in as the link chord before the intro came back in. The recorded chats and interviews are a fascinating listen. So sad he passed away, so talented. I thought you'd like to know. 👍

Thanks for this one. I was listening to the radio today and heard Laid by James - I couldn't find any tutorials out there on KZbin, so this might be a good one for you to tackle. It can be simple (3 chords), but also could be dressed up with different rhythms and arpeggios could be a great cover candidate for you.

Thanks for the channel, Nate. A small issue is that I find the Chordie fingered note colour of blue on the black keys a little difficult to quickly see. After printing the pdf I step through the video pausing after each chord and write down its inversion and rhythm in music notation. I generally only read music very slowly but can cope ok later after this procedure limited to just these details.

Thanks for the lesson Nate. One question, I noticed your piano has C0, does that mean that C3 is middle C. Not C4. Thanks
@PianowithNate2 ай бұрын
You're correct! I switched software because it gave me more control of the sharps and flats, but it does have this less common octave naming convention which is frustrating and confusing. This reminds me I should message the developers about this...
