It’s such an uncool instrument. It’s soft, earnest, gentle, powerful only with absolute control and taste. The kindest, most romantic member of the brass family, the one who’s a little sad, but who everyone loves. What a privilege to know this instrument. I haven’t played in years, but I will be a euphonist in my soul until the day I die.

Euphonium rules. Former trumpet player here. To any of you entering high school or college: If all the trumpets are taken, don’t walk away from the band. Grab one of those bad boys and master it. It will look good on your curriculum vitae and may draw a little bit of interest that may serve as the icebreaker during an interview. But more importantly, it will be the time of your life!

I was a former trumpet player now a euphonium player and hell yeah this instrument is so fun. I honestly enjoyed it more then trumpet so far.

Or Tuba if you want to make the jump. Current high school Tuba player and the gig isn't bad. Sure, you don't get the melody but I get more recognition than most of the other members of my band. Trumpets cool too though. Still play it for pep band games.
@ncrtrooper113 Жыл бұрын
I went from trumpet to trombone to euphonium and all I’m gonna say is this is true. Don’t walk away from band just because the instrument you mastered was taken, learn something new and you will find the joy of music, the feeling of playing something new, the feeling of a new sense of relief.
@corbinbell820 Жыл бұрын
I got a funny story to tell. When I was a freshman in highschool (so literally last year) I asked to play trumpet for marching band, but since its a brand new highschool they were completely out. So I was given a concert euphonium. To march. I remember meeting up with the other bands, and them being like "oh yeah I remember you", and its like "HOW YOU REMEMBER THAT!" Anyways. I now love that instrument more then ever, and I will die with it in my grave.
@MicahSwinehart8 ай бұрын
@@corbinbell820 When I signed up they had different instruments to try out. I asked to play the trumpet but they said my mouth wasn't fit for it so they gave me a Euphonium. Without knowing anything about music I played a B flat and F perfectly just because my mouth felt right. Played for 8 years and loved every minute with that instrument.
