Yeah...a simple life. Friends, a beautiful woman, quiet.

I love this episode but it raises some very interesting questions. Did Picard truly make any decisions as Kamin? Was Kamin actually a real person or just a fabricated personality and story? If Kamin was real then was Picard’s decision to settle down and raise a family truly his own?

I get tears every time I rewatch this episode. Subtle introducing the concept of “reincarnation”, many starseeds will began recollection of their past lives as well. Don’t understand? Read Dolores Cannon “The 3 Waves of Volunteers”.

It's such a shame that "good men" who are "gentle and kind" don't get a lot further in this life.

For a man like Picard who had done so much as part of the Federation in charting out new civilizations across the stars; to have the chance to experience the simpler and quiet life that Kamin had as a pillar of his community and a local hero who spent his days raising a daughter and having a Grandson is itself more than enough of a rewarding adventure.

The way it is described in Memory Alpha is "Ressikan flute", though I have no specific competence on the matter in question.
