Glad ya'll got to see the eclipse with your grandkids! We were at Medina Lake, and it was cloudy for us, but we did have the "moonlighting". Pam, that mirror just won't do🫤🐾

Haha. Not sure what they were thinking on the mirror. We were fortunate on the eclipse and yes we heard that central Texas did not clear up for the eclipse. It was so awesome experiencing the eclipse with our grandchildren.

Thanks. That was quite a rain/hail storm. We really lucked out on the weather. It was cloudy in the morning but cleared in time. Many people that came to Texas to view it south (Austin/San Antonio) we not as fortunate since the clouds did not clear in time.

Family fun is always fantastic, hanging with the grand kids for the eclipse must have been great. It appears you folks are pretty happy with your choice & it looks like nothing major went wrong on your shake down trip, well except the hail. Safe travels & enjoy 😊😊
@TheRoadSMITHS6 ай бұрын
They had a blast! It will be interesting traveling in one this small...but it will just force us to be out more. The hail was kind of freaky in the small one for sure!

Great that you got to be in "totality" and share it with your family! Yes, we always put the trash on the front of the truck, for the same reasons. LOL! Congratulations on picking up your new Lance. Oops, the mirrors do seem a little high. Check lists help with remembering, but all new camper makes it easy to miss things. Nice snap pads. -Michelle

We did get lucky for the clouds to clear at the right time and the grandkids were so excited. I will need to get Pam some blocks to stand on to see in that mirror. Haha. We drove with the handle out for about 15 miles I guess and not sure how I did not see it on the side view mirror. We do love Snap Pads.

Awe Meka! Love those Aussies! It took ours a couple trips for her to adjust to the aluminum steps. Enjoy the Lance. We have heavily modified ours so we can do off grid for 10 days. In fact, when we have paid for RV spots, we have never used hookups. 2075 was our first choice but we landed a new 1685 from a dealer closure. BTW, I think our next purchase we could make a 1500 mile drive to buy from princess craft!
@TheRoadSMITHS5 ай бұрын
Those steps are trickier than even our fifth wheel because of the lip...even though its lower. The 1685 is a nice rig...we visited with some folks while in Taos that had your model...having the slide definitely makes it feel roomy. We have 3 slides on our Alliance 5th wheel but was concerned about taking a rig to Alaska with a slide. We do like the distinct bedroom in the 2075 but the kitchen choke point is tight for sure. Princess Craft was great to deal with for sure.
@parkcitymacs5 ай бұрын
@@TheRoadSMITHS Well Lippert slides are a great thing to avoid as with most Lippert made things. So smart move getting something that does not have them in the first place. The 2075 is one of the nicest travel trailers made. Like a luxury apartment. I have rebuilt our Lippert Slide myself and CNC’d more accurate gear track extrusions, but the motor and H-columns are not strong even for dirt roads. However, I finally installed a VROOM slide and it is pretty stout. We drag our Lance over pretty rough terrain. I wish Lance would make a non slide version of the 1685 but in a 7.5 or 7 wide, and use the truck camper dinette. It is funny regarding your comments about smaller trailer. We just bought a Tab 320 as a second RV so we can get in places the 1685 can’t go. Being in Utah we have the privilege to shop 95 percent of all the overlander trailers, including BruderX, but they are so heavy and expensive, we figured we could modify a TAB for a fraction of the cost.
@TheRoadSMITHS5 ай бұрын
Wow on the vroom slides. I know they are super expensive but have heard some many great things about them. That’s awesome on the Tab I know they are made well and have a great following.

We have left the campground with the trash on the rear deck once ...or more maybe. Haha. Did not make it very far though before we saw it. No on the lego blocks once the snap pads are on. We do still use wood blocks on the front jacks under the pads just to give us extra height. Thanks
