You're right, I think the best time to hike the Manitou Incline is in the morning. And that's when I (Chris) did it. And man did that hike humble me. It was a beast. And the craziest thing I saw while hiking it? A woman in her early to mid 20's running down the incline backwards. Waiting to see what happens with the incline in a future video. Ken, I had a good laugh when I saw you sitting on the steps. I could totally relate and believe me I did the same thing MANY times. That's good info on the Bluetti, we only use it for Stalink (Just buy one already 😄) and charging our devices. So happy and excited for you about your future granddaughter. Can't wait to see the pics!

It was a beast for sure...and were only just starting to ht to really steep part when the rain hit. Still need to do more testing on the Bluetti to see ho to best use it but I think using it at night and running the fridge on propane at night while bookdocking could be he best use...and of course if stationary during the day using the Solar Panel to keep charging it while using.

How cool to see the hummingbirds nest! Kind of scary you had to take cover under that rock during your hike. That little girl was quite the trooper! We don’t have a bluetti yet so good info! Yes...that girl and her mom went on the finish. Those steps get a bit slippery..so we turned our butts back down the mountain. Haha. I like the Bluetti. am shooting a review on it soon :-) Ahh yes Starlink...maybe.

We did a strenuous hike in Telluride at the Bridal Veil Falls at the end of town, and it humbled me (Seiry) to the core, as we are people who have run 5ks and half marathons a few years ago but kind of slacked off due to work. Now, we are excited to do more of this. Thanks for being so genuine. We love that about you guys.

Thank you so much...Its too hard not being who we are. .I am sure the elevation had a lot to do with your hike. When we drove to Tellurude everyone said go to Bridal Veil Falls...and we didnt since we were just driving through..but will most certainly be back given our new enormous reason to be in Colorado more.

Nice to know you have a back up plan if boon docking doesn't work out. Love the 1974 camper!! SO COOL about the hummingbird, and I could see her!! Thank you for sharing that. 😍That first site looked very difficult. Why were the rocks there? That is an insane amount of stairs!!!😯 Smart people to find shelter. Even though it was disappointing, it seems like it was the right decision to turn around. Good thoughts on the elevation. We will see how it goes when we get out there too. - Jim & Michelle

We dry camp a lot in our 2075. We only have one solar panel and the 2 Li batteries. We don’t have anything like the Bluetti just a small charger to recharge phones. We use propane only and have found that we can go about 5 days before needing to dump. And that’s if there are no services where you camp. We recently did 8 days with a nearby vault toilet, potable water, and a place to dump dishwater. It was the perfect scenario for dry camping.
@TheRoadSMITHS4 ай бұрын
Sounds like you’ve figured it out! We just love boondocking! Dont get me wrong, having full hookups is awesome, but not being so close to other campers and fully immersed in nature is the best! Having vault toilets meats makes a world of difference! Thank la so much for watching and commenting! Stay safe out there!!

Yes starting out between 6-7am for any major hike in the Rockies is a must! I loved it when we’d be slowly making our way up a 14er and a guy would pass us running up and then down before we would summit. 😅 We’re going to be in Denver visiting daughter and grandson. I can’t wait to get back to our home state.

Great video! I love hummingbirds too (Val), it’s so fascinating when you can capture them in slow-mo! I made it to 1800 steps too! We did it with our teens and nobody really came prepared, so we ran out of water and had to exit to play it safe. Wasn’t a defeat though! That hike at that altitude is a win no matter how far ya make it! Definitely want to go back and try again!

It's hard to see your bodies oxygen intake efficiency increase when you stay at a higher elevation. But if you went to say 1000 or 1200....and hiked or Increased your heart rate you would notice that you don't get winded as easy or fast. When I raced I wanted to train out west but it wasn't possible. But you folks are rockin those mountain trails....I would be in my glory...lol.
