There are many good lessons on how to play "Windy and Warm" on KZbin - without a doubt - this is the best. Thanks !

I know this is an old upload but I want to thank you. I had the A and B sections from elsewhere and I seen folk play the other sections but did not know exactly what they were doing. You've opened up a lot more of this song to me. Thank you.

These small details really helped to enhance my presentation of this song but what I so enjoy is watching the dogs who sit on the sofas next to their best friends and hang out. Mine does it and I hope she enjoys it as much!🐶

I have had so many false starts with this song. Your teaching technique is really strong. I am now at about 85% and climbing. Got the parts down, just hard to walk and chew gum on some of the alternating base notes, but really enjoying myself. Thank you for sharing your talents!

I love your teaching style. It is fast, understandable and to-the-point. I've been messing around with this tune for a couple of months and am finally able to relax while playing part A and can fumble through parts B & C well enough that nobody knows the difference. My thumb is very nearly autonomous. My kids wish I would play another song once in a while, but after watching this video many times I can see that I have a lot of improvements to make. 100 more hours and I'll be ready to play it for my dog (RIP).

Hi, thanks for this amazing video. I couldn't get a hang of section C from just listening to various versions of this song, but with your tutorial it became so simple. Thanks, Anni! Yeah, I played bits and pieces of it for years, and finally had to sit down and figure out the parts I'd been glossing over. But when you fit all the pieces together, I think it's one of those things that's greater than the sum of the parts. Cheers, Bruce

Thanks, Bob, I'll certainly check those out! I love Dadi. Some of his songs were so simple, but so catchy, and really great practice for fingerpicking style. Did you know he died in the mysterious crash of Flight 800 out of New York? I've got a friend who files helis for the Army in Afghanistan who knows people who actually saw two missiles go up and hit the plane. That was a great loss for us guitar players. ~bb

Yes Bruce, I am aware of Dadi's tragic loss. Seems we have lost many great fingerpickers, it's sad. Enjoy those songs, I have mastered neither of them but hope to someday. He is not a fingerpicker but one of my favorite guitarists is Johnny A. checkout his rendition of 'Witchita Lineman' and his original song 'Oh Yeah' very smooth player. Regards, Bob

Hey Bruce..great lesson. Thank you. I am stuck on the section that starts with the slide into the G7. I tried slowing it down to .25x but cannot discern the exact Travis pick. I see the thumb doing the boom chick bass on 6 and 4 but cannot for the life of me discern how your fitting individual your plucks of 1,2, and 3 around the 6 and 4. Can you offer any hints?

Have you chaps mastered windy and warm yet then? I can do all the melody but with a limited bass. Getting that fully independent thumb is just too damn difficult. Tips?
@ultrakool9 жыл бұрын
Adam Morgan not that I've yet to arrive, but even tommy e says "do that for about a week", i'm beginning to believe he meant literally..24/7. I've practiced w/ a metronome in ten minute increments. that helps, it's like jane fonda aerobics for the thumb ;^) the only thing that seemed to help me with the independence was to do a drill, thusly: damp the neck to silence it, then find one and start counting, 1&2&3&4& while the thumb rocks from E to D strings, the index plays the G string in between. should sound like, "boom chick, boom chick, boom chick boom chick, boom chick" think of the rhythm from "I am the walrus..smoke pot, smoke pot, everybody smoke pot. drill that for many days, adding your middle and then the ring, til you have all three playing simultaneously opposite the thumb and your independence will improve rapidly, imo.
