I paid $1000 supplying my own paint, decals etc for a classic motorcycle tank and side covers etc, and I got back what looked like scotch brite pads were used on my base coat. Clear coat runs everywhere, like honestly, WTF. He had all 5 star reviews too.

@@striker1553 That sucks! I have found a couple of good places, but I'm convinced there are more bad than good.

@@scottsgaragehtx439 I got every cent back plus the cost of my materials from the guy! Cut me a check after some back and forth. He was pissed, and wanted me to let him make it right. I said no thanks, I had no confidence in him, but I appreciated the offer. I took it to the shop I used years ago and they said they'd fix it the right way the first time. It truly was bad.

I can understand why you feel the way you do. However, after years in the business and doing post repair inspections. The worst repairs come from dealership body shops. The majority I’ve dealt with dealt with have little to no understanding of manufacturer procedures, and for the most part could care less.

@@RobinLindsey-t6t I see your point too and I think it has gotten worse.

Hey Scott, I took my truck to a body shop to get it repainted they quoted me 4000 to 4500 to get the whole truck repainted. Its been a few weeks and i just got a call from the shop telling me the body work is done but they want me to pay half of the money so the can buy the materials to start painting it. sounds kinda fishy to me, what do you think i should do?

First thing I would do is go look at the truck to see what body work was done. What did you end up doing?

Any shop painting a pickup for 4500.00 doesn’t have a clue.
