In this video, we will be showing the process of making our original Berbice learned style Saijan bhaji also known as moringa leaves. Later into the video, we enjoyed it with dhal, rice, and mango chutney. Be sure to watch until the end.

The bagie looks good! My Gran would use the sigan, pumpkin, churai and broad leaf all together to make the dish. I thought we were poor but that was the sweetest dish I ever had to date.

What causes the bitterness. I try cook it twice and both time was bitter.. Thanks for sharing. Looks delicious. Will try again.

I think it’s just a bitter plant in general. I always wash and really squeeze it out really good.

Everything is looking spectacular. Where I'm from people dont cook it but I had some neighbors from Berbice who made it and I tried it once. Its a lot of work but rewarding in the end. Bet its nutritious too.😁🙏👍👍👍👍👍👍💯💯💯💯💯💯🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾❤❤❤❤🙏🙏👍👍

This is a delicious and wonderful sighan baghi. Sigan baghi with shrimp 🍤 is my wife and children favorite baghi. This sigan baghi is the only thing she wants from Guyana.🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾

I am curious if it is possible to wash them while they are still on the stem and let them dry, instead of washing them when they are so fine.

I never had this before but I heard it's very delicious with shrimps. Like you, I am from West Coast, Vreed-en-Hoop, we also had the tree but only used the sigan not the leaves. I have to try this sometime if I do get the leaves. Thanks for sharing.

@@GTMusketeers I I live in Las Vegas. Like you I lived at Cornelia Ida on the west coast. My mom never cooked the leaf. Like you said the Berbician who figured out that the leaf is edible... it is not available here. But when I go to NY. I will try to get some. Be safe ❤️

I am not sure about Guyana, but I would think so since it's tropical weather year-round. For us here in Florida it depends on the season for harvesting.

@@GTMusketeers I like Sijan I eat it in the hassa curry however I am in ny so I do not think we can get the leaves to buy here. I buy the frozen sijan from the store keep posting your videos you are doing a great job❤️

That bagie with dhall looks so delicious but when you were in berbice didn't your I inlaws teach you also if you Sanie & eat with bear hand the food is going to taste much nicer

This is the way I was taught by my husband’s family in Berbice. We don’t like it with too much of the bitterness. I’m sure everyone does it in their own way to best fit their needs. Thanks for asking.
