I like the style of your Moringa chutney. We have been making and eating Moringa leaves Chutney for ages. It has always been in our family. But we don't complicate it the way it has been done here. Our approach to making Moringa chutney is very simple. We only use Moringa leaves, Dhaniya leaves and Pudina leaves in 10:2:2 ratio, with a few green Chillies thrown in (as per taste). We grind all the leaves/chillies together and add lemon juice of at least 4-5 lemons and salt as per the taste. We don't need to add anything else (Daal, Mustard, Tamarind, etc) and there is NO USE of heating any thing. Still the chutney comes out as heavenly. Kept in an airtight container and in side the refrigerator, the chutney easily survives for more than 3 weeks. But it has never managed to survive so long as we just don't allow it to be left for that long.

Muringa (murunga in sinhalese Srii lankan lingo) leaves are extremely good for lactating mums. Helps produce excessive milk so that you can breast feed an entire village. 🥰It is also a purgative so need to be cautious when adding tamarind because tamarind itself is a laxative. Be mindful! We use the leaves, sticks, and the flowers for cooking. Also use the bark in pickles. Drumsticks(murunga sticks)are very delicious when cooked with cashew nuts and tamarind juice. Greetings from 🇱🇰 .
@BhairavShakti3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if anyone would want to breastfeed an entire village 😂 but I get your point. I didn't notice any laxative effect because of the tamarind combo but chutney is usually eaten in smaller quantities. Maybe if someone ate a lot of it then yeah maybe. Lot of useful information, thanks!

I need to try this chutney. We used to eat a soup made from split mung dal without skin another version uses sprouted green mung. Boil the mung till its done and then you have to add some curry leaves and then grind coconut, ginger and jeera coarsly and add the boiled mung add the coconut ginger and jeera and let it boil only for a few minutes we don't want to cook the spices and coconut too much. Then when its done max 5 minutes we turn of the stove and add the moringa leaves and cover it. Here also we don't want to cook in 5 minutes it will soften and it will give a sweet after taste it wont taste raw. Yummiest soup. Red chillies can be added but if we ant to keep it sattvic then Skip the red chillies and mustard. We don't even put salt in it but you can put Pink salt. This is a great way to include moringa in your diet everyday as chutney can be eaten with anything rice or dosa. Thanks for sharing the recipe 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Seasonings+ moongdal+ moringa leaves is also very nice . Finally with red chilly flakes. Add fresh coconut also. Tastes good.

Wow. Upon reading your recipe seems good. Can you share this recipe exactly how it is made, as I've never tried before moringa preparations. But will try now, coz of it being considered as superfood
