Hey chase, it would be awesome if you did this same kind of video on professional matches that are already online. Although you can't speak for what others are looking at when they shoot and pass, It would be great to get a slow mo breakdown of your best guess at what spredeman and Moore are looking at when they shoot. Or even a breakdown of how loffredo blocks.

That is really tricky. Seeing things from the outside in is actually never accurate when it comes to someones thought process unless it is very obvious. I can do it with my matches.

Chase Pennell I figured it was a stretch. If you really think about it, it wouldn't be different from sports analysts breaking down what they see on film. The viewers know that analysts aren't always right, but trust that they are giving their best guess at live action decisions made by pro athletes. Jim Steven's is the only real voice that gives his insight into what players are doing, and I think we need more of that. I really like the way you break down the game and think you would be a great foos analyst! On a side note, I would definitely like to see more of this from your own matches. Great job man!

Great video, on a topic I'm really trying to work on in my game. I've heard of variations on the "shoot at holes" strategy where you basically pick a hole, look at it, and if it's there execute, if not, pick a hole again. Thoughts on thinking of the hole first as opposed to chosing one based on what patterns you're seeing? I feel like strong goalies are good at making me see what they want me to see, so I'm looking for ways to adapt.

Great question! It depends. I actually start by reading the defense. IF that does not work, then i will pick a hole and wait it out. But if you start out waiting for a whole, I think that a good goalie figures that out quicker and can learn your timing faster. But maybe that is just me.

If you picking holes, and have a feeling that goalie has your number, start shooting at men. It depends on what kind of shot you'r shooting, but most of the time least moving man is best target, as it mostly likely will be a 'trapper'. In this case your shot timing must be same as before! If you have speed advantage, look for man change (when defender cross goalie). Even best defenders have to sweep their man at some point (if your shooting range isn't to narrow). For this use longer timing. In longrun, longer timing will drain defender, who will start make mistakes (more repetitive patterns, slower motions, less concentration etc. ). If your shot is pool, you can prolong your attack by kicking defender which closes straight hole(for reset), if it angled towards your men. It can only work once or twice against good defender, but then he will change defenders angle, and this will may give you a little space for speed or range.
