This was a great video. I am right in the middle with your cards, status, and points holdings. Looking forward to doing the course bundle in 2025 knocking out both a financial and a travel goal. Happy travels and have a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season.

I’m seeking guidance should I tackle high-interest debts first or smaller balances for momentum? How can I negotiate with creditors to ease the burden?
@sebastiaanthijn7982Ай бұрын
On your own you could seek out several of these financial advisors, make sure the one you settle on is a fiduciary and not a fake. Know what you're getting out of it and see if your targets can be met.

As a beginner, access to reliable information is vital to succeed, so also is professional guidance. That's where a CFP comes in. Have you considered working with one?
@BendyChoyАй бұрын
I have been advised on that. Finding one who understands what I want and can work with me to achieve it is essential, although I'm yet to find one. Any recommendations, please?

Joseph Nick Cahill is the CFP for you. I recommend him because I understand where you stand and your need for a listening ear.

I just Googled his name and found his site top searched. I'm really impressed with his credentials. I have emailed him, hopefully he responds soon.

I agree the travel day can really set up your trip. A great lounge experience can just make your day.

Hey, again from KS. only 5 more days until til we start our SE Asia adventure. Been doing great following your advice. So, in last 6 months I have gotten the IHG, Amex Platinum, and Chase Business Ink preferred, and my wife has gotten the Amex Gold, the World of Hyatt and the Wyndham Card. At 67 and 57 years old we are really excited about this new chapter in our lives. We even started our KZbin channel called, "Onward Bound" where we posted some old videos from previous US travel and our video how we got 700,000 points in 6 months. We are just starting this, and the videos are not great, but the learning curve is starting to smooth out a little.... Thanks for the inspiration.

The IHG status is huge! I got to my hotel in Munich at 8:30am and the front desk clerk specifically mentioned my status when he said he’d be able to get me an early check in. After about 14 hours of travel, I was very relieved to be able to take a nap before getting on with my day.

Good to hear that the World of Hyatt is one of your top picks Rob as I just signed up for one! Once I start traveling more, I'll think about getting either the Amex Platinum or the Sapphire Reserve. I like my Sapphire Preferred, but that lounge access seems great! Now regarding the stack to pick, how about a combination of both and hold 5 total? I love the Amex Gold choice given that I'm still living here in the USA and those benefits are everyday purchases, but the lounge access for either the Amex Platinum or Chase Sapphire Reserve is a toughie if I already had the Amex Gold. The both of you have given me food for thought! Thanks for giving us this updated video for the New Year. Happy Holidays Rob and Allie!

Great advice as always! But maybe mention that the hotel cards offer the free night AFTER your first anniversary date. So that first "free night" costs $200.

Hey team! How goes it? Question about the Hyatt card: Should I get the credit card now and use occasionally over the next couple of years or wait until a couple months before we begin to slow travel? I expect to have 30,000 points for the bonus and if you suggest, maybe buy points the month of November while beginning our slow travel. Thank you for everything you've been sharing so far!

I would go with Rob’s stack because I want points. I can use the points for free stuff. Happy birthday to both of you! 😊

Perfect timing on this video. We got an offer for AMEX platinum from Schwab for 120k points. We already have one high priced Airline card that gets us into their specific lounges, but we are looking for something to add to our current mix of 1. IHG, 2. World of Hyatt, 3. Chase Business Ink. We fly a lot so the airport lounges are important. Rental car and other hotel status would be good as well. For us, it is a decision between AMEX Platinum or Chase Sapphire Reserve. I'm still leaning towards the Sapphire reserve. I will have to compare the two cards side-by-side.
@slin4013Ай бұрын
They r steep to co own. That’s like $1300 of annual fees. But, my wife has sapphire reserve and I have Amx plat- they do completely different things and we are satisfied with the combo we have
@GroundedLifeRetirementTravel29 күн бұрын
We do have both and the Amex is much better for rental cars, but the CSR earns a lot more points for travel.

The Amex Gold only earns 4x at U.S. supermarkets so it seems like it would not be super useful given you folks are out of the country so much.
@vincelasagnaАй бұрын
It's not even useful in the US, since almost all my food comes from Sam's Club.

I have IHG, Chase Sapphire, but no Amex. What would you recommend, Gold or Platinum?
@GroundedLifeRetirementTravel7 күн бұрын
Do you Chase Reserve or Preferred? If you travel and have the Preferred we would recommend the Platinum for lounge access, the Reserve also has that. So if you have the Reserve probably the Gold for more points on restaurants and groceries.
@pastortodd19647 күн бұрын
I have Preferred so I will go with Platinum. Thanks for your quick response. You two are awesome!

There’s a bill that a guy is trying to pass, and he was successful at this type of law suit with the debit card. But if he wins,say goodbye to credit card points. Sign the petition against his suit if you don’t want to lose the value of your cards.
