I dropped that 24 hour turbo yeast Sunday the third and here it is Saturday the 9th and it's still bubbling like crazy
@milehidistilling110 ай бұрын
Have you taken a hydrometer reading with a starting gravity and final gravity? It likely is already worked off, there might have just been some air escaping through your lid which would make the bubbling never stop since there's an oxygen pocket.

@@milehidistilling1 I actually took a space heater and placed it in front of it and it was done that morning. Also a ? Can you do some still reviews of each still and the benefits from each one. I'm looking to get a new still in the future but money's tight right now. I was thinking a 20 gallon tops but I can only run 120 volts t.i.a

Question with the whiskey yeast..once your done distilling do you still have to add whiskey flavoring or your spirit already taste like whiskey.
@milehidistilling1Ай бұрын
It will likely taste like whiskey right when distilled without adding essence. The yeast plays a part in how your spirit comes out, but so do the grains you use and how you distill it. If you use a nice whiskey recipe and use this yeast, running low and slow, you'll have a nice spirit out the gate.

Hi, does DistilaMax HT need sime nutrient?
@milehidistilling16 ай бұрын
Hi, Tatyana. Yes, it does. I'd recommend just a simple diammonium phosphate for it: milehidistilling.com/product/diammonium-phosphate-dap-yeast-nutrient-1lb/

What exactly do tou mean when you say "turbo yeast has more bite?"
@milehidistilling19 ай бұрын
Turbo yeast produces more volatiles in fermentation, so it can come out a little "rougher" than a fermentation that used distiller's yeast can. It more depends on how you run it, in my opinion though.

I've usually run mine rather gently, keep my temperatures on the low end, and let my washes settle for a month, so I'm only putting clean, clear wash in the boiler, i keep all my copper clean just keep noticing a certain subtle metho note or a sharpness, that would be from using the still spirits 20% abv turbo yeast?

You don't list your web site on the videos... and when I did find it on line it was not responding.. maybe on my end but a tip would be to put a link in the description below if you like more traffic
