You’re missing out not adding weight to the 14mm. You get a good bit of stability back and keep the stiffer feeling face. I’d be curious to see if someone could weight up a 14mm to similar twist/swing weights as the 16mm and compare. It’s not just the thickness that you’re noticing on the shots. It’s probably the (lack of) mass.
@simplysimplemobiledetailin5294 ай бұрын
That part! Most people don’t realize how adding weight can/will completely enhance the play of a paddle!! And at that point you can be comparing apples to oranges. The DBD without weight is one of the best paddles right outta the box. You add weight to it and it becomes a superhero! My fave-the BD isn’t much outta the box, but you add weight to it, it’s Thanos in comparison to the Avengers!! 😎😎😎

For what it's worth, the DBD 14mm has a good amount of vibration which I have been using for months now and I absolutely love that paddle. Not all paddles fit for everyone and the Ruby 14mm is a paddle I will be buying since it's basically the same paddle as the DBD but with a different surface.
@simplysimplemobiledetailin5294 ай бұрын
Most all of that vibration goes away if you add lead tape. Helped my game go up a level especially when playing against harder hitters. And since it’s a 14mm, you won’t be losing any noticeable hand speed. You gain stability, pop and feel! Win/win!

Respectfully paddles really are a case by case basis and how it feels to each individual player. I have pretty opposite feelings of Chris and I’m a 4.5. The BD 14 is really good in my opinion. I’ve been playing well with it against good comp. I don’t notice any vibrations. It’s more of a power and pop paddle so some added weight helps with stability. It’s not a bad paddle, it’s just not Chris’ kind of paddle, that’s all. Both models will sell out when they drop. An average review won’t slow 6.0 down. They have a lot of new paddles on the way. They are on the come up. Just not Chris’ style and that’s okay.
@juansantiago14414 ай бұрын
@@BigRed22_KCyou are right but on the same token, there are plenty of better paddles than 6.0 offerings and more affordable. What made 6.0 blow up was that they innovated and brought a Paddle that was ahead of its time and if they want to stay relevant, they need to innovate and bring something new and different to the market. People will still buy and they will sell out because it has become a known brand, but that doesn’t mean that they are offering the best tech/design in paddles available… Plus the prices keep increasing.

Not once did we say that these paddles are “trash” we are simply giving our opinions based on how we play the game to help people make a decision when buying a paddle. Not everyone has the opportunity to demo paddles, so they will seek out other’s opinions. Does that mean our opinions are absolute and accurate for everyone? No. And that’s why we stress so much that just because we aren’t fans of these paddles that doesn’t mean no one will like them. We even go as for to tell you to watch other reviews because not everyone’s play style matches ours. But for the people that do, they will now have a good idea of how this paddle might play for them.
