And you are so right about the walking part! When I used to go to office, initially, I was not used a buffet with a variety of dishes and wanting to eat a little bit of all the varieties, often overate. But we often went walking, for about half an hour, and covered 2-3 kms in that time (right after lunch). I noticed that on the days i decided that I had a lot of work to catch up on and skipped the walking (and went into the AC rooms(ai mention AC because I think it has an adverse effect too!) I felt bloated and uncomfortable. In another of your videos, you said that drinking a warm mug of anything will help one slow down and is useful when one is stressed. I tired it immediately and saw just how effective it was. And I usually just drink hot water and whenever I did this after lunch it totally helped with digestion too ❤️ (You all make the world a better place to live in. Thank you!)

Maybe I should try that once, if I find combu at the store, I might try eating a small portion of legumes with it and see how it goes. After how sick I got last time I tried eating beans in relatively larger quantities I pretty much decided to never eat it again. And I also have tried in the past to eat it for l months in smaller quantities, without my body actually getting used to it and able to eat more. What does combu taste like?

Dairy is also a huge reason kids are constipated. My 5 year old daughter had really bad stomach pain and her doctor suggested MiraLAX and to take it for as long as she had stomach pain. We went and saw a plant based doctor and he said to cut dairy out of her diet and within days her pain went away. Crazy how most doctors aren't educated more on nutrition

Dairy constipates me like crazy I can't eat it even with lactase pills, I also get cysts and cystic acne from it which can't be healthy :/
@zakosist Жыл бұрын
I dont have any major issues with dairy myself, but it seems to me like doctors often just want to treat the symptoms without even trying to detect the cause first. And they should be trying to search for the cause, although it can be hard as the same symptom can be caused by a lot of different things. Same when I had a bad rash that lasted for several months, I eventually figured out it was caused by allergy to some skin products, without knowing the exact ingredient. But for a long time I went without any cosmetics at all, even shampoo and soap, but did wash myself thoroughly in water every day, and that made it fade away. Nowadays I only use allergy friendly shampoo.

As a naturopath student, I agree with 100% of what you are saying ! I will just add that if the bloating or constipation is really uncomfortable, it's maybe because there is candida in our intestin (who cause de irritable intestin, I don't know if this the good translation in English, I am French) so, be careful and aware of your body people♥. And yes, eat slowly and masticate a lot because the digestion starts in the mouth ! Love your content and your growth throughout the years ! ♥ Love from France, Julie

I have Chron's disease (stable condition in remission) and a lot of these healthy foods are not good for me. I can't stand oats, they make me bloat, they cause diarrhoea etc. Also plant based foods like you mentioned lentils and legumes are so troublesome for me, however I do eat them and I do like them. I usually take a probiotic after I consume them to calm down the gases. Probiotics with enzymes might help for some people. Just like you said it's the same like with lactose intolerant people. For example I love yogurt, but soy products also make me bloat a lot and I really hate them because of the discomfort. Mediterranean type of cuisine is what suits me best. I love your work, always helpful, have tried the fennel seed and indeed it is helpful, they also make baby teas with fennel. Although, I can't enjoy all your recipes because of the mentioned reasons, I really do find many recipes that I can make and enjoy. You are one of my all time favourite youtubers. Just watching to your videos is so calm and pleasing. Sending love to all of you

Hi Sadia and team PUL! One tip to add:) I'm from South India, and we have lentil soup with rice every single solitary day, as a part of our lunch. We add asafoetida or Hing to the soup to help with the digestion of the lentils.(It has quite a strong flavour that i don't like much, hehe, and a little goes a long way with this powder!) Also, whenever we are making any deep fried food with chickpea flour(or anything with chickpea flour-like savoury pancakes), we always add Ajwain or Carom seeds (a quick Google search told me that it is similar but stronger than fennel seeds, I'm not a nutritionist! 😬) The combination is very good and it really really does help with the digestion.(Again, not too many seeds, it makes the dish bitter!) (Also, whenever I have stomach ache, my mum always has a pre-made home made medicine ready, we call it oma-marandu, omam is ajwain and marandu is medicine(it has a lot of ingredients i don't know about..). This helps a lot, usually.) Sorry for rambling!😋

Everytime I watch your videos, I realize how much effort you've put into bringing the knowledge and motivation of eating, living and staying healthy. Knowing your journey and the sacrifices you've made to work for others not just for yourself and to make the world a better and kinder place, I just wish you a blessed and happy life. Thank you from the bottom of my/all our heart(s). ❤️ 🤗😘

Thank u for the vdo Sadia. Its interesting to see how our Indian food habits already address these issues through our cooking ingredients. For eg - dal made of lentils almost always includes ginger in some form and Fennel seeds are a routine post lunch/Dinner mouth freshener. Good to see these being popularized 😊
