Thank you for this video. My first sit inside the Atlas was at the state fair last week. My impression of the black laquer interior was completely negative. I just can't imagine keeping that clean. I also appreciate you pointing out the slider aspect of the controls. That is 100% a no-go in my family. The difficulty of controlling those for someone with advanced arthritis in their hands (grandma) is very difficult. Grandma even has problems with a touchscreen cell phone. She prefers mechanical buttons. I have to consider that in my vehicle.

I drove this model and trim today. I was able to swipe/ pull down from top to bottom to turn off auto start stop. But yes , you will need to do this at the start of every drive. My complaint is that I'm 5'2 and couldn't seem to get the seat in a good comfortable driving position. Not very petite friendly.

I think the 24’ refresh is definitely a step in the right direction, but the over-use of cheap looking bright chrome work, the ridiculous rear lower reflective red stripe and the black plastic fender-ettes look clunky and dated.. the faux-tail pipes look cheap too- VW is capable of smoothing all of this out, at least in an upper trim.. If VW is gonna use the R badging I really wish they would R-it-up all the way.. I do like the size and utility.. backseat and cargo space is tremendous

We’re in the market for a 3 row suv, and I really wanted to get an Atlas, but the lack of buttons seems like it would be a significant annoyance on a daily basis and we have to take it off the list.
@rudolfbruder Жыл бұрын
It actually works out just fine after a couple of days. Most of the stuff you need often is on your steering wheel as well. And you can create short cuts when swiping down on the main screen (also for start stop).

I really enjoyed your comparison between the new 2024 VW Atlas and Atlas Cross. No knobs on the infomat screen are not good. Having to sliding your finger is not a good thing for me. The seats should move so they can fit a variety of people sizes. No third-row arm rest/cup holders not good. Thanks for the review!

I have a 2022 Sel Premium Atlas with 21 inch rims. I thought it was interesting that the drive quality changed. One thing I do not like on my 2022 and was wondering if they updated was the suspension. I feel like my vehicle crashes thru bumps vs drives through or over them with cushion. Has this changed? Also, are the front seats more comfortable on long drives? I miss my Touareg seats

Does anyone know more about the apparent lack of the 360 camera due to a chip shortage? We were told by a dealer last night that the new ones are shipping without a 360 camera and there is no fix for them after they have been made even if the chip comes back in.

OMG - did you even spend some time learning how to use the "vehicle things" or "all this stuff"? Just because you refuse to learn the tech does not mean it is not intuitive. You spent way too much time nitpicking the most trivial and silly stuff - (I thought you were going lose your sh*t because the window control panel was plastic and just hideous!) Most of tech is being implemented by ALL MANUFACTURERS. Yes, no knobs and even "black lacquer". If a consumer decides to not buy a wonderful car because of not having a knob, well, better hold onto that 2006 Accord coz all cars will be this way in 3 years.

I think one I would add to my dislike list is the fake exhaust. Why does VW continue to put fake exhaust? But other than that, this is a beautiful car! I’m hoping to get the cross sport model.

Take a big family, load up the vehicle with all your stuff, stick bikes on the rear hitch and a Thule type box on the roof, and that little four cylinder is going to struggle badly.
@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix Жыл бұрын
Actually it wont struggle. It has more torque than the v6 and that torque is available at a much lower rpm. It will handle weight better than a non-turbo v6. You don't have to rev it to get power like you do a n/a engine. That being said, I am still not a fan of having a 4 cylinder in a vehicle that size. I'd rather have a small turbo 6 cylinder.
@Pickuptrucktalk Жыл бұрын
I'm with Jack, the turbo makes all the difference. The V6 will seem much slower and weaker vs the new turbo engine.

I’m not sure what version you have, but the AWD + the 7-speed dual clutch transmission didn’t work well together, and there was a lot of stuttering and lag. It was the worst powertrain combo I’ve ever experienced in a vehicle.

Problems : central diff was locking, dealer changed the fluid, sims ok now, rust appearing on the roof near the windshield, rear shocks are starting to sweat. The worst thing, that the dealers don't care anymore. Don"t mention the jetta 2010 which I bought new at the time, holes all over the car from rust. Never again I will purchase a VAG product.
