I was a neonatal rescue mom and I had a litter of 5 I got at about a week old. Every 3 to 4 hrs I was up feeding them Since it was cold I always wore a nubby fuzzy sweater. I noticed that when I started weaning them several took to sucking on my sweater. I confess, I found this adorable & let them do it, figuring they would grow out of it once they found "big boy food" well 4 did, but the one continued sucking. I decided to keep her since i had just lost my beloved boy several months earlier. I named her Tazzy , short for Tasmania (guess why?) She continued sucking on me and if i offered her a bottle she refused it & went back to my sweater. Well Tazzy is a year and a half now, still sucking on my sweater at night when we go to bed. I continued rescue and she helped with the new babies, licking them & cuddling. Such a big help. Much better than a stuffed toy. One of the new babies (the runt) wasn't keeping pace with the rest of them so i decided she needed a little more time before adoption. Ii let her sleep with Tazzy & me at bedtime and wouldn't you know it ANOTHER SWEATER SUCKER!! Well i decided to keep her too. She is about 8 mos.old now & still sucking on my sweater. One day when i was at Walmart I saw a nubby blanket almost like my sweater. Of course I bought it for my girls. They love it! So every night I go to sleep to the sound of purring and sucking & making biscuits. I used to have insomnia really bad, but listening to the duo of purring lulls me right to sleep. I refer to my purchase as the Mommy blanket lol!! Now we're all happy Just wondering how old they will be before they stop. Never I hope, my sleep depends on it Love your little man They are all adorable. 😻

@@HaunaMyKiki Oh totally I had a black domestic short hair named Chip & a mixed color Norwegian Forest Cat (white/gray/tan) named Calvin who were incredibly sweet & affectionate. My Ex-GF Said they’d be waiting at the door for me to come home from work & they were my little thermal blankets at night. I lost them both last year after 16 & 13 years respectively & it really floored me. They were naughty at times & they knew they were cute. I miss them so much. I haven’t adopted new furry pals yet as I am still grieving but thinking about them just warms my heart even their naughty incidents. One of my first lessons as a nee Cat Dad was not leaving treat bags outside of a cupboard. I came home one day & found the treat bags knocked off the top of the refrigerator & they were completely shredded & emptied. I know Chip the Ninja Cat knocked it down to his waiting brother at the bottom where they had a treat party. Cats & dogs are incredible furry pals & one of the greatest gifts that you can bestow upon yourself or your family. What’s better than a wet nose, fuzzy face & wagging tail at the end of a stressful & tough day? 🐱 + 🐶 RULE! By the way, since my first cat Chip was a black kitty, I have a soft spot for black kitties even though I adore all cats but also think gray cats are super cool. I think those who adopt special needs cats are amazing too. Some animals might have special needs like the Misfit Toys, but they will love you just as much. Thank you to all the amazing pet parents out there providing loving forever homes & lots of kudos & thanks to all the amazing people out there working with & advocating for cats & dogs a you all rock!

I like Earl, maybe it's that stubborn determination...reminds me of Chow Chows. if I didn't have a 12 yr old Chow Chow that's really triggered by cats, I'd be really interested. But cats are his special prey drive trigger...from 50 yds away, I can always tell when he sees a cat his tone and intensity changes.

This is the kind of kitten I love. Smart, attitude and knows exactly what he wants. My 3 make cats were feral rescues and very young kittens. Just about 6 weeks old. Theyv were all sick and needed a lot of vet care. My youngest was obsessed with his formula and then his kitten food. He's still obsessed with food he thinks he needs to eat every 2 hours and by hour 4, he's getting really demanding. He also only likes chicken. He's so funny. I think he's secretly a Hobbit. I just love him to death.

Omg, what a relief to see someone bottle feeding a kitten horizontally and not up like a human baby… great job! I can tell that you know what you’re doing! :D
@ponggaaa48543 жыл бұрын
I don't have cats, but why can't you feed them horizontally? Something about not going down properly?
@VelvetCorgi3 жыл бұрын
@@ponggaaa4854 The proper way to bottle feed a kitten is with the kitten lying down or being horizontal. This is because when kittens naturally drink milk from the queen (mother cat) they are lying on their bellies. Human babies drink milk upright, cradled to the mother’s chest. Many people mean well and bottle feed kittens the way that seems natural to them, which is upright like a human baby. The problem is that this bends the kitten’s neck in an unnatural way, increasing the risk of choking or breathing the milk in. Most of the time it turns out fine, but it is a common misunderstanding made by people, especially if they are inexperienced with neonatal kitten care. I want to emphasize: doing this does NOT mean that you are being negligent or abusing the baby, just that there are better techniques out there for bottle feeding kittens. Hope that explanation helps! 😃

What a cutie Earl is. Hey must have found so sense of security in the bottle. He's so cute I'd end up bottle feeding him until he was a senior
@dede40042 жыл бұрын
True, there's really nothing wrong with it. If the bottle gave him more of a sense of security, I think it would be worth it. Too often, we try to force animals AND children to grow up faster than they might be ready for. Some need a little more time to stay "baby". IT'S just something in them. And, then when they're grown, we wish as COULD see that "little one" again. We're always in too much of a hurry, I think. But, then again, maybe that's just me.......

Then if people respond to them they'll follow pretty much the same pattern of messages, and at some point they'll ask for the user to contact them on something like WhatsApp. After that I don't know the exact details, but I've seen others say they did contact them and it's complete different people offering something or trying to pawn something off on them.
