Today I became an RN. Was the most hardest thing I have ever done in life especially at my age..Nursing school was equally exhausting and very difficult for me trying to remember and learn during covid-19..I was always the last one in class taking exams, the last one completing HESI benchmarks ( was a nightmare as I would have to take each 3 or 4 times to get past 850) and I was the last one to graduate.. If this sounds like you and you are feeling discouraged, please take a deep breath and GIVE YOURSELF GRACE. It's OK to be the last one in class and it's OK to take HESI benchmarks 50 thousand times( LOL) and it's OK to read and re- read and read some more.. The one thing I did was kept my grades to myself and If I barely passed, I applauded myself..👏👏👏👏 ..I never looked to be an " A" student, I was just proud enough to have accomplished a goal.. But the biggest thing is Always give yourself Grace and go at your own speed. To prepare for NCLEX, I used UWorld ( I would range at about 55-60% in scoring, DID 75 QUESTIONS A DAY) I also used this amazing instructor I met on youtube called nurses guide that's Professor W ( HE IS AMAZING) his contact +19143619057, he gave me study materials and if I had difficulties I would call to talk to him in the car, on the way to work, at the store etc...and I also used a wonderful program called Nursing.com. This program would literally have an instructor explain every disease process and had courses like Medsurg, OB, Pedi, Mental health etc.. and fundamentals of Nursing procedures, just as if you were in nursing school. The day I took NCLEX, I ran out of time at 123 questions and of course, I was the last one testing... DO NOT STRESS IF YOU GO PAST 75 QUESTIONS ON NCLEX... Take your time and answer the questions to the best of your ability... I passed...Please, don't give up, don't get discouraged, take your time and don't worry about the next student. You do you! Your time will come when it's your time..and most of all GIVE YOURSELF GRACE... You got this, trust me... Peace and blessings 🙌

Albuterol is beta agonist "short acting" bronchodilators, then 5 should be included. A "narrow therapeutic" range. I agree with everythin you said but except for this one. Albuterol is actually the first rescue inhalers you give. And remember the s/e 3T’s Tachypnea,Trush ( mouth), Tightness (chest).

Hypoglycemia is definitely part of the answer. Cuz if u say metformin maintain your sugar that will put the patient incompliance to keeping track of the sugar level thinking metformin is a miracle pill for diabetes. If the patient doesn't eat 30 min after taking metformin it will cause hypoglycemia n u must check your fasting glucose level before. if it too low it will cuz hypoglycemia.

Great video! I am from Puerto Rico living in USA. English my second language and definitely your videos were one of my favorite resources to study for Nclex though i also got help from one professor getting his PhD . Your pictures help me a lot, your explanations are awesome. Today, I finally got my results and passed my NCLEX RN. You should have more than one million of subscribers. I recommend your channel to every nurse studying for Nclex. I would have love to also recommend the professor help but but he doesn't have a channel... but you can equally get to him if you contact me. I love your videos and God bless you for all your help!!!

I struggle or get nervous on like, what all should I study it’s so much information what are the main things I need to really focus on because we can’t know everything or store all that information. So what mostly would I need to know on each topic or section/ subject? That’s what trips me up I can study long and hard and then be asked a question I didn’t come across or study, or study things that are not even asked 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️

i always get confused with that hyperventillation question because he says you blow off too much CO2...makes sense, but couldn't you say the same thing about O2?...blowing off too much O2 and then choose alkalosis? ...regardless, I always automatically think you are breathing in too much CO2 so I tend to choose respiratory acidosis. I am missing something and want it clarified...can anyone help? ...sorry if its a dumb question, don't laugh lol

I know this isn't exactly the topic, but metformin was discussed at about the 29 minutes mark. In my 20+ years of practice, metformin ABSOLUTELY can cause hypoglycemia. Of all of those side effects, hypoglycemia is the only potentially immediately life-threatening. I heard this said all through nursing school, but this information is not correct.
@PicmonicVideoNursing2 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe! We sent your comment over to our scholar team to evaluate and we wanted to give you an update on their response. "We watched the part of the video indicated and we think the information is correct. The host was sure to specify that metformin does not cause hypoglycemia as a usual side effect. And the question they were addressing was “what side effects of Metformin should the nurse educate the patient about”? He addressed the side effects that are expected to happen with this medication which are abdominal pain, nausea, and decreased appetite. Hypoglycemia would only occur if the patient took too much metformin or was taking this medication inappropriately, in other words patient was not diabetic and taking this medication. Hypoglycemia does not occur as a regular side effect of this medication. As per Up To Date (2021), the most common side effects of metformin are gastrointestinal, including a metallic taste in the mouth, mild anorexia, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and soft bowel movements or diarrhea. These side effects are minimized by taking the medication with food. Lactic acidosis is an extremely uncommon side effect. However, it remains a concern because of the high case-fatality rate. Most cases have occurred in patients with conditions that predispose to hypoperfusion and hypoxemia (acute or progressive renal impairment, acute or progressive heart failure, acute pulmonary decompensation, sepsis, dehydration). References: UpToDate. (2021, March 15). Metformin in the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus - Evidence-based Clinical Decision Support | Wolters Kluwer. www.uptodate.com" We hope this explanation is helpful!
