Babby, assembling the deviled eggs on site is a revolutionary technique for me. Transporting devilled eggs to a picnic has been a harrowing experience in the past. I once watched my girlfriend eat decimated devilled eggs out of a tuperware with her fingers. You've protected me from seeing that again, and anyone else from going through it. We owe you our lives.

Haha! Sounds like a harrowing experience. What I do is put the filling in a plastic sandwich bag, and come food time I snip the corner and pipe it in. Makes it super extra presentable that way!

I"m crying. If I made and transported mine I'd have to have a separate container for my candied bacon and jalapenos. But yes, it's much much easier to just break down and assemble when you get where you're going. My mother-in-law doesn't like the white but likes the filling so I have to make a baby container for her. Also, my entire family revolts if I don't make the deviled eggs each year. All that said, sometimes you just have to get dirty depending on what you're eating. BBQ is one of those things and so are deviled eggs. Just accept it and enjoy the food.

Water melon slicing 6:09 I propose cutting off the exterior completely before you slice it, starting of with top and bottom, so the thing does not move. Then just slice around the flesh as best you can. In the end you are left with a perfect round, red ball of water melon which is much easier to slice. It is much quicker and usually yields a better result :)

I'd set up the perfect picnic spread with multiple plates with different dishes on them in a crowded park Then settle in and tuck into everything and have people watch me eat everything. Power moves

Very simple once potlucks are a thing again make something delicious from any of that ashes playlist and do not be shy about mentioning at that that's the dish you brought. This will get you friends and admirers and lazy people who just want to eat your cooking. And as long as they make something you like it's a perfectly balanced platform to build friendships. ;) Strategy my dude strategy. If you can't impress them with your looks, impress them with your skillz! Literally the reason I watch babish

The yolks come out super easy by just pinching the hard-cooked eggs after cutting them in half. They just pop right out. I also like to add crab meat to pasta salad.

Doesn't that kind of just make it Crab Salad though? Which is an actual thing-

If you want to make that lemonade even better, before juicing the lemons take some of them and peel the outer peel while removing the pith, then throw it into the simple syrup to steep adds so much lemon flavor without extra acidity or juice and makes it 100x better

That muffaleta makes this native New Orleanian very happy, proud, nostalgic and hungry Btw we pronounce it " muffa-LOT-ah" in NOLA. Its so weird hearing it pronounced phonetically correct 🤣

Also weird seeing it with no sesame seeds on top. I completely understand that he couldn’t get authentic bread and a ciabatta is probably a great substitute, but it just didn’t look *right* without the sesame seeds.

For that ginger-mint simple syrup, I'd boil at least half the ginger with the sugar, then toss in the rest after. Honestly even boiling all of it would be smart, ginger is a tough root and it extracts better under plenty of heat. Long-boiled ginger does lose some of the complexity of flavour that fresh ginger has, but it deepens so much that it's worth it for some of us.

Put the deviled egg filling into a sturdy resealable bag. Cut off the corner and fill the eggs. Less fuss, and will look neat and uniform (especially on a picnic).
