Picnic with Mom on Red Oak Mountain:
I had planned a birthday party for my mom but she ended up having to be in the hospital that weekend. With mom’s health declining it was hard to plan another date to invite people to a party not knowing how she would feel that day. I decided to get together a picnic and take her to what I call Rad Oak Mountain. I’m not sure if it is really even called Red Oak Mountain but because they are a one room church called Red Oak Baptist Church there I have just always called it Red Oak Mountain. Come along with just me mom and her dog Judy for a beautiful afternoon on Red Oak Mountain.

What a nice day for a picnic in the mountains with your mother...she's a sweet soul and you're a wonderful son. The church is beautiful and very well kept. Wow that is so cool. I have been watching you for a while now and you are in my neck of the woods where we ride. Does your Mom live near there in New River? I have alot of friends up there and have over 10000 miles logged in the woods. Your mom is so sweet and I noticed she said going up she use to ride four wheelers up Red Oak so I assume she lives near there... No the church never had power. The building use to be a old mining school house and I dont remember what year they converted it to a church. If you go in and go behind the Pew you can see where they added on by the change in the floor to make the church. When they redid the church a while back they ran the wires and run it by Generator when they need power. There is alot of good people in New River. You need to stop in Scotty's store at the New River Genereal Store and do a video. He is a heap of history in the area.....

That was so sweet you taking your Mom, up there. Years ago that was a school and was used as a church also. My Mom, was a school teacher there for a while. Back in the day many years ago there were many large white pine trees up there. Timber companies cut them long ago. Most people don't know it now but there was a large community of people that lived in that area.❤❤❤👍
