I purchased it during pre-order only cost RM1599, shopee voucher help me deduct more RM120 so only cost RM1499 with delivery fee. 128GB is enough for me, the PICO store more than hundred games, but i don't think i can purchase all of them. The bundle games include 4 games. so addition buy some games. Most games cost RM9X-RM11X (Lowest is RM2X). Sport Games fun, but FPV shooting games like After the Fall is choose teleport move as i have motion sickness problem. Recommend for who never try VR, if own Quest2 than just forgot about it.

Nice review. I have both Quest 2 and PICO 4. For now, I'm interested in the color pass-through mode of P4. It feels more 'real' than Q2. However, Pancake lenes looks thinner and lighter.

If you don't have pure HW issues with your Pico 4 then it can probably be solved/improved with SW updates in the future. Of course, it is bad and you want to return it. But please give Pico a chance to improve, we definitely need competition in this VR sector. This is the first standalone headset that can actually challenge Meta. I'm neither camp Meta nor camp Pico (have Quest 1 and ordered Pico 4) but if Pico doesn't get a good feedback then we might never see a Pico 5. And without a Pico 5 Meta can relax again after Quest 3.

did you notice the wrong world scaling of the Pico 4 in both native and also PCVR mode ? You can see the image warping if you turn your head left/right or up/down. There is a serious error how the image is being processed for the lenses which can damage your eyes. If you monitor horizontal lines when looking up and down you can see bending of these. This should not happen on a headset in 2022.

@@LimReviews it may not be that obvious in the first place, but if you have the direct comparison to the Quest 2 with the same games being testet it becomes pretty clear. Also if you compare the stability of the image while moving your head it's also pretty obvious in my opinion. This issue has been reported to Pico several times in the past months, since it's also an issue on the Pico 3, but it has not been resolved yet. In my opinion this is not acceptable and can also cause motion sickness and eye damage, since the eyes permanently need to adjust to the warping, even if it's very small.

How about quick head movements? My Pico 4 can't track quick movements well, and the whole world is shaking, which makes me feel dizzy.... Just shake your head really quick, you'll see what I mean 🤔

@@Davvyk yes, it's still an issue on the Pico 3 (Display Port), although Pico has improved this in the past couple of months,. But it's much worse on the Pico 4 now. I am sure this can be fixed via software / firmware update.

On my pico 4 when i open virtual desktop and start a game, steam vr keeps freezeing after about 1 minute after starting the game. is there any solution to this?

I received mine yesterday. I don’t know, I’m not glad of the quality of the view when I move: Quest 2 is less clear, but the image is much more stable. The wifi 6 doesn’t reach the 800mbps and its software looks like a beta. The only reality great thing is the balance.

Today I received my Pico 4, but so far it's a huge disappointment... The most annoying bug is regarding head tracking: if I shake my head quickly, the screen content shakes with my head, it doesn't stay in one place like on the Quest 2. It seems that the Pico 4's head tracking can't keep up with quick movements. Could you please test it for me? Just shake your head quickly left-right, like you were nodding "NO", and the screen will also shake like an earthquake. Then try it with the Quest 2 - the screen stays in place. Here is the complete list of my disappointments: - the face cushion is really hard and stiff, and hurts my head (it also left an ugly mark) - the face cushion lets in light on the sides (it doesn't follow the shape of my head) - if I attach the extra rubber piece around the nose, the lenses get humid quickly - during the initial setup there was no head tracking until I set up the boundary - head tracking gets lost during quick head movements - wireless PCVR streaming had a decent audio delay (also with Virtual Desktop) - maybe I could correct the delay somehow, I'm not sure yet - the color pass-through is very bad, objects are distorted, some tall objects appear as they were flat on the floor

The default refresh rate of Pico4 is 72HZ while Quest2 is 90Hz. Turn on 90HZ refresh mode for a better experience

That's really odd! It seems like we're having 2 completely different headsets! Mine does no shaking whatsoever when shaking my head. Also I played the badminton game and even jumped around to smash but did not face any change in headset position. Regarding your cushion and light leaks, again mine feels soft and comfortable. If I'm not mistaken there is even another piece of "not-sure-what-you-call-it" thing that you can add on to prevent light leaking. So far as you can see in my video, although I did not do any super intense movements, but my scene generally felt very well tracked and I was able to enjoy the games. Hope this feedback is useful for you.

Based on the comments below it does seem to be different. Someone mentioned they don’t see Disney plus , apple fitness , and other TV streaming services inside by default. Also the string of issues others are mentioning are not present in my unit. Makes me think they’re diff in some way or another.

Had mine since the 18th. Its a mess. Great optics. Great comford. Headset tracking noticeably "slacker" than quest 2. Comes installed with web apps that make you think various video services are supported but they are not. Getting returned.

@Andy Aech yeah some pcvr (it isn’t latency) and some eleven table tennis which I’ve played loads of on quest. Tracking much worse comparatively. The tracking slackness is also immediately noticeable in the home environment as well. Upload Vr have mentioned the tracking isn’t great in their review too.

@Andy Aech nah. I don’t buy products and hope they get better. This company has no track record of correcting its issues with other headsets. If they sort it out I’ll revisit in a year but I’ll judge products by what they are not the imaginary vision of what the company might put the effort in to make them. @Andy Aech I’m talking fundamental issues with tracking. It’s not acceptable to me. If you find it so then so be it. Not really sure what your issue is. I’m not returning your headset. I do feel that a product should launch in a suitable and usable manner. Quest 2 did for me. This does not for me. It’s really no more complicated than that. When I state the tracking isn’t up to scratch and you say “give them time” why? What do I owe pico? Nothing. They brought the product to market in this state. I bought it. I assessed it and they do not deserve my money based on the current status of the headset. Many feel the same. Especially those that have experience with many headsets. No headset is perfect. The optics and comfort of the pico outstrip the quest but when the fundamentals are not up to scratch then I honestly think it’s counter productive to give them the benefit of doubt. You do you though. I’m simply sharing my experience with the headset. Not asking you don’t buy it. Not asking you return yours. It’s laughable they’ve bothered to pre install web “apps” for video services that aren’t even supported on the browser 😂 they’ve literally done it so people see them in screenshots and videos and think “oh cool it’s supported”. Hopefully they sort it out and get a nice headset into market for competition but I’ll not be paying them to be a beta tester when they’re marketing a commercial finished product for the masses

@Andy Aech whipping out the fanboy attack😂 honestly you’re making a bit of a fool of yourself here. I honestly couldn’t care less about the brand. That’s why I bought this. In the hope it could replace my quest. It’s not fanboyism to simply state one headset is preferable to me in its current state. You’re the one making this about the quest. I simply mention it as a point of reference for how good inside out tracking can be. I don’t particularly love the quest. Comfort wise and optics wise but The quest was significantly more usable at launch imo. It was marketed at 72hz. That’s what I got. It was marketed as having good wireless tracking. That’s what I got. It’s had updates that improved it but the base offering at the point of purchase was worthy of the spend. The pico doesn’t achieve that for me. I’ve never stated quest was perfect. No product is but what we have here is a product that imo simply isn’t fit for sale yet. It’s as simple as that. You seem to disagree, although I don’t know if you do as your point is “it might get better” it’s irrelevant though. You do you. Mines already returned 😂 I’ll keep an eye on it from afar and have my cash back in my bank account until I feel something else comes to market that can improve on what I already have. This headset proves that pancake optics are lovely and inside out tracking is easier to market to people than it is to implement well. Your defence of a headset many in these comments are stating has issues and your apparent support for just “hoping” it gets the support to make the tracking and apps usable could be described as pico “fanboyism” but I’d not do that. 😃

I would agree but if you don't have a Q2 I think this is a better option, it's really light and comfortable, tracking works well and Pico's own pcvr streaming software works better than virtual desktop. My only disappointment was not having the display port that I have on the Pico 3 link (0 latency). That said I have tried the USB c connection with a 5m usb extender and a short type a to c and it only adds around 30ms latency

Very good review. This standalone vr console is a pretty neat concept but unless it has many new upcoming games then I'm not sure if it would be all that interesting. Looks great for watching movies but the constant head movement would definitely becoming annoying as your screen would shake and turn. In addition it could also cause motion sickness due to the constant movement. I guess vr headset is not for everyone.

@john james as @@zacthegamer6145 surely means, the only thing that cause motion sickness has nothing to do with the movements of your head. It is when you are moving from a point A to a point B, as your body doesnt understand how you do so without moving your legs, which can happen in cars as well (when you are not driving). Just have a fan blowing towards you from upfront and you should be fine.

the head movement feels just like in real life. It's just that recording standalone headsets is a bit too demanding so the recordings mostly look a bit shaky, but inside the headset you won't notice any of that. The baseline for a vr headset is the tracking being 1:1 with real life, the issue you seem to describe doesn't exist.
