The twistee tie on the Den nobile may confuse people unless the tie is actually on the upper part of the cane. Otherwise, we could also say that the new shoot from the bottom actually the natural grown because the old canes are matured.

Thank you @My Orchid Adventures. I found this very informative, and learned some new information on how to propagate new orchids, considering from seed it takes yeasrs to get plants. I did, however, get my very first Orchid Seed Pod off a Dendrobium Orchid many months ago. Excited, I quickly looked up how to grow from seed and was quickly disappointed at the work involved in sterilization, etc., and the length of time it takes for the seeds to grow into plants. 7 years is a long time to wait though, if successful, you cam end up with MANY more plants. Still going to have a crack at it for the experience, just trying to fing the easiest/cheap method. I have subscribed for further research in your videos.

I will try this method in a cattleya orchids
@PictureMaria1
@PictureMaria1 6 жыл бұрын
That would be awesome... I would do it much the same way the only difference would be that you are working with somewhat of a rhizome type structure versus cane or stem area. Please be sure to keep me posted would love to know the results.
@lynnbrooks5503

This looks great Maria. How would it go on Cattleya do you think?
@PictureMaria1
@PictureMaria1 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lynn...and it is funny that you mentioned that...someone else said that they were going to give it a try...I would think that it would be done in pretty much the same way...except you would be dealing with a rhizome type of growth structure versus stem or cane...it may allow people to be capable of producing more leads on orchids especially with trying it on the older bulbs and seeing if you can force more growths...wouldn't that be so awesome! I may have to give it a go myself and see how it goes!

Hello! Thanks for the video! Do you think this would work in a Phal flower stem? Also, I saw questions regarding cattleya... I have managed to grow new shoots by cutting through the rhizome (not complete cut, just almost through), just after an old growth. As with any cattleya, be sure to leave at least 3-4 healthy growths behind your lead before cutting.
