Wait till you hear the whole album.I picked it up and after 3 listens was hooked .They hit it out of the ballpark.But then not too surprising because they just seem to keep leveling up with each release.

I wish more people your age were this open minded. Im a millennial born in 93 and this music is so unfairly misinterpreted and its really sad to me. This stuff got me through some of the darkest times in my life so far, and man.......the shear talent and quality of a lot of metal is astoundingly underrated and underappreciated. Im 30 now soon to be 31 and if anything I listen to even heavier music now than when I was younger. The lyrics, imagery, intensity of the instruments, and the brutality of the vocals make me feel like Im not alone in how frustrating, unfair and sickening life can be and this "Noise" is the perfect outlet for people like me to release some stress, helplessness, and anger without hurting anyone. I can grab my headphones or go for a drive and drown out the world. Metal is depressingly misunderstood. Thank you for being open minded.

I agree my friend. Ill be 43 soon. I started out with Ozzy, Metallica and Alice In Chains and then LOG and then came Lorna Shore, Slaughter To Prevail and then for some reason i didn't like Cattle Decapitation a few years back and now I think they are one of the best metal bands on the scene. I just think my metal journey has evolved and now i have more appreciation for extreme metal than I did back in the day. This music is getting me through a very rough time right now of my own doing. I might as well say it, Im withdrawing from snorting Fyntnal for 1 1/2 year's. I started doing it for the pain of being shot in my own house by my brother in law 4 times. And then he tried to shoot me in my head, but i blocked it and took him down!! Anyway enough of my bullshit! Lol. Good to have you on the metal team my friend! Have good night! 🤘🤘

Just turned 28, feels like nowhere as much people listen to heavy music these days compared to when I was in highschool, and here I am listening even heavier stuff and feeling like everyone else is crazy xD

Was it just me or did it just about bring a tear to your eye? Maybe i'm projecting, but it literally has done this to me for that exact reason that it's such quality in every aspect. They are a special band and I hope more people eventually give them a go. Just as you said you had, I was another one of the fools who put them off because of the name and now I pay little mind. Great reaction, if you haven't listened to the whole album yet you might check out "Just Another Body", it's the closing song and is slower tempo and more somber featuring some cleans as well. I feel it brought a whole other breath of tonal flavor to the entirety of the album and quite an appropriate sign off. I've not seen anyone give it a listen on YT which is a shame, but that's all my opinion anyhow.

I completely agree with every word you said. I understand English better than I can write, but when I had the ability to write down what I think of Cattle Decap than I'd write down just what you did say about the band. They're in a league of their own. There aren't that many bands with their own recognizable sound. Cattle Decap, Opeth, Between The Buried And Me and in my humble opinion Gorod are one of the few bands who can say that of themselves.

Gorod came along during that tech/death boom in the 00s and they were just perfect. More progressive than most and less chaotic than say.. Psyopus. They scratched that itch for a new Necrophagist album. Back when I actually thought we might still get one after "Epitaph".

STP, Trivium and Lamb of God as well have their own unique sounds. There's actually quite a few out there, but your right not nearly close to the amount of regular bands there are that are good, but not great like these guys!! 🤘🤘

To be fair, based off their name I had the opposite instinct of "I need to get some of this into my life", but then i love that sort of dirty grindcore sort of thing. Might not have been exactly what I expected but still really enjoy their stuff. This was great.

We should compile a list of those band names which have caused us to (foolishly) pre-judge the band.... Me, starting with Black Sabbath and The Sex Pistols (shock horror!) back in the distant 70s. Let's face it, band names these days are not going to shock anybody except some old granny that's been in a coma since 1942. This was great btw. Cheers Hedgy..... Not my first time hearing Cattle Decapitation. It really is just a noise. And yet, there is a musical sensibility to every part of it. I never seek them out and I will never buy any of their albums but dear God they are good at what they do. My extreme Metal stomach is now full for another season. Maybe I'll try some Infant Annihilator in the summer. You never know it might be half decent.

when it comes to IA, i stomach their drum cams best. im an extreme metal fan, and cattle decap is my most recent step into harder stuff, coming from behemoth and jfac, but im still not quite there on IA's albums

To be fair Infant Annihilator usually really push themselves to make the most repulsive stuff they can come up with - so you are not wrong on that. Tho, for the meme Motherless Miscarriage is actually a less serious one from them if you ever feel interested in them, but no pressure

Nice heavy song. Not fast, but heavy. It doesn't have to be fast to be heavy, does it? At some point this song had moments that reminds me of a song of Pantera. Oh, Hedgy, please stick to the music that we don't all know. Still holliday greetings from warm Scotland. (Last day 😕).

While undobtedly very talented, this is not for me. I don't mind the more extreme sides of metal but Cattle Decapitation doesn't really click with me. Or is it me with them..? I don't know. So - talented but will probably not go out of may way for more.

Infant Annihilator are good but they're no Cattle Decap for mine, perhaps check out Archspire.
