Pie Town - New Mexico True Stories

UPDATE: Unfortunately the Pie-O-Neer had to close in 2020. It is still a great story about a unique New Mexico town and character. Here is what the original description said:
"This tiny community tucked in southwestern New Mexico has a name that will pique your curiosity and make your mouth water at the same time.
“We pulled up and there was a little sign on the door: ‘Used to be pie in Pie Town … ain’t no more,” said Kathy Knapp, owner of the Pie-O-Neer, describing Pie Town before they opened their shop in 1995. “It’s someplace that’s different than anywhere else. The air and the sun … it’s magical.”
Pie Town is located on Highway 60, two miles east of the Continental Divide."

Pie Town was one of the first places I went when I ran away from home 3 years ago. When people ask me why I just look at the oddly and say, because I like pie, why else.

The last time I was at Pie-O-neer this past summer, 2018, she wasn't as friendly as she's portrayed in this video. Perhaps she's become a little crusty as she's getting older? That's okay. There's another nice place just down the street on the left and they serve great hamburgers too! 🤗😋🇺🇸

I'm sure there was a quick reason to that particular day. I've never bothered to look up videos of Pie Town. It so happened my 1st visit there was a customer that came in just as a Rush of 15 customers had come in and she Greeted everyone and he was waiting for his pie to be boxed up... Well she was not moving fast enough for him and he became Sarcastic and she kindly explained to him the time for all customers is all valuable and Pie is to make all Smile

I ammm so thankful to have been one of those souls ,driving from Vail Colorado to Suncitywest,AZ,to Phoenix AZ.. I'm a Caregiver for the Fiorellis of 9 Years 💕My bosses have me the history, somewhat of Pie Town...I FELLLLLL IN LOVE..My trip was 11states in 15days..and at the end of Our trip... This place specifically is no longer open, but there’s a spot a block or so down called “The Gatherin’ Place” that picked up where she left off. Just went last week. The blueberry butterscotch pie is amazing!

Went there early 1970 weren’t any pie but a bunch of big mule deer, no pie and no deer. New a fellow from there Bill Hanson.

Pie Town has traditionally been a ranching community, so it’s technically incorrect to say there was ever a period in which it had no “pie.”

Its been a long time since we've been to Pie Town To Eat Pie.. Best pie you've ever eaten.. That was back in the early 80's.. I'm tickled to see Pie Town Pie is back..

US Hwy. 60 is one of the most historic and scenic drives in the West (and probably in the world).
