I'm just like you, Tammie! I work a regular early morning job Monday thru Friday, but love to stay up late on the weekends sewing. I am a night owl by nature. I do sew during the work week, but can't stay up as late. As usual, so many beautiful quilts. I look forward to seeing what you have next week! Have a great week, and God bless!

I appreciate that you link the free patterns for us to easily locate, Tammy. The backing color on the first customer quilt looks cool and soothing. As usual, your customers' quilts are outstanding and I love hearing about the pantographs and the reason each is selected.

I don't know about Essex linen, but when I worked, one of my favorite fabrics to buy & sew my clothes with was linen. Expensive side, but lasted longer, stayed looking nice, and was soft after washing. Even before washing just had a different feel.

I like the idea of the house facing a different direction! You may want to do the month of your wedding anniversary in a different direction because you wedding started the beginning of many of the major events that you mentioned!❤ I love your work and all of your videos!😊

Great idea! Our anniversary is in March so I’d have to redo that block ☹️
@LauraSup10 күн бұрын
@@tammieearnest I never enjoy redoing a block but those pieces would be able to be used in an upcoming month! It would add interest to the story of the making of the quilt! I have many quilts with stories that include changing blocks and becoming BFFs with my seam ripper!😀 ❤️

I am interested in the batting cutting that Maggie is doing. What is your set up ? On the floor, on a table, etc? Do you have a wall set up with a batting roll holder that you just roll off what you want? I find the batting and backing cutting/prep process to be one of the more dreaded steps in quilt making. Thanks, love your videos.

Thanks for the questions. I'll answer them on an upcoming video.

Jessica and Jeanette at Sew Sweet Quilt Shop say the essex linen is soft upon washing. They seem to do a lot with essex linen. They do a biweekly "Chat" where they show what they have done for the weeks. On You tube.

Not done watching yet, but feel the need to comment on the blue and gold quilt, in case I forget. I feel the quilting really set off this otherwise plain (but great) quilt top. We are so used to seeing prints and multiple colors, and the quilting often going to the background. But the fact that she used solids and just the two (which is still so vivid) really allows the quilting to also have a part in the front stage. Love your pantograph choice! Perfect.

Having houses facing the opposite direction is a great idea. You could have just one house in the quilt facing the other direction.

I love the idea of switching up the roofs. Adds a bit of whimsy. But does it need whimsy

Someone tell me, if I purchase fabric from Walmart (Waverly), and because of all the fancy options at fabric stores being so much more expensive, I worry it will really shrink up. If I starch it and press it, will that take all the shrink out of it? So, I wouldn't need to worry about it shrinking after it's completed and I wash it?
@tammieearnest10 күн бұрын
It will help for sure. My experience with cheaper fabrics is that they don’t last as long. They wore out much more quickly and then I’ve spent all that time on a quilt that didn’t last. So for special projects I would invest in a higher quality but use what you can afford for other projects. 😁
