Yeah..... That probably wasn't a smart move. Comedians or not, I think you should always exercise a little bit of caution when cracking jokes on people you don't really know. Because most times that's typically a familiarity thing. If Eddie Murphy really knew Pierre, the joke probably wouldn't have been awkward, But when you first meet someone, you never want to get too comfortable right away. Be humble until that you and that person establish a rapport. Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Eddie probably was about to give this dude a compliment and tell him that he was funny off BET and he played him. Big mistake. Also, he was ashamed of being on Comicview in the 90s when it was so popular at that time???

Probably wasn’t getting paid on that show

I liked his stand up back in the day.. Was hoping he would blow up even bigger than he did.. he did have some success.. sooooo many stand up comedians who don't get to achieve the things he did.. Be proud of the accomplishments.. my opinion.

Eddie Murphy was the long time boyfriend of Johnny Gill. Sugar Ray used to house Johnny Gill in his pool house where Eddie visited. Hmmm. I forgot about that stupid Defense movie he did.

In hindsight, Pierre should have let Eddie have his funny moment.......never outshine the master (48 powers of law)......everybody would have laughed, and then he woulda been in.....its like paying your dues.....I'm pretty sure Eddie (the BIGGEST comedian at this time) joked everybody....the joke didn't get off cause he didn't play the game right.....not saying Eddie blackballed Pierre, BUT it could have an impact on his career, never know.....if you playing football, ROOKIES gotta pay dues to the VETS....its just the way it goes.......but once you in, YOU IN!!!!

It's interesting that Pierre considered "music videos" that he listed more noteworthy than being on TV. A music video is 5 minutes, tv is an hour or more. Either way he wasn't ballin, he should of played his position and be happy Eddie Murphy was familiar with some of his work.
