Do you own any stocks? If so you'd know half is not being taken away by tax. Half of it is taxed the same way that your income is taxed. In other words, your capital gains are taxed at half the rate that your income is taxed.

If you live in Ontario and make 1m+ income, and make say, $5000 profit from trading stocks (capital gains), your taxes on that $5000 would be $1257.50. (($5000 * .50) * .503). I agree half is too high btw, but I think we could both agree income from working shouldn't be taxed so much less than money from trading stocks or other means.

Totally agree. I have, almost, the imagination of that day with all my neighbours, in shorts and t-shirts, at a barbeque celebrating. Sun shining and children playing and wife's socializing in the comfort of their own homes, protected by our families, in an abundance of food, knowing that there is at least 1 guy in Ottawa free from the the corrupt anxiety plagueing post-modern politicians. God bless this vision of the future we have, not generated by hollywood and cyberpunk post-modern dystopias filled with useless talking heads. We can have a future where technology works with us, not for us or against us, and we better each other, instead of taking from others and selling out your neighbour and family for temporary relief from the responsibilities of governance

I need to just say this, Freeland's voice grates on my nerves (same as Trudeau). It amazed me how she was projecting so hard during this QP. She projected when she said about Pierre being nervous, dithering, etc. while anyone with fully usable senses could see and hear that she was in fact the one who was nervous and dithering over direct questions. I am very glad that Pierre and the Conservatives did NOT vote in favor of this bad increase. Honestly, I don't have enough money for it to effect me, but I have a fantastic family doctor (I know I am so very lucky) I have had this doctor since my kids were born, they are grown men now. I worry that if this goes through that my precious doctor whom I trust and knows me and my health issues will pack up and stop practicing medicine. So it does effect me in that way and my concern, I believe is valid. It is INSANE for the Liberals to do what they have been doing. But if you understand where they get their marching orders it is easy to know why they do these things...WEF Klaus Schwab has been noted as saying "YOU WILL OWN NOTHING AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY" I believe with all that I have seen that is exactly what they are trying to do to families, business owners throughout Canada. Correct me if I am wrong please but I really think that is exactly what is going on here. Trudeau and Libs are trying to follow their WEF overlord's order and relieving Canadians of their wealth and property so that we will own nothing, everything we have we will have to rent.
