It was a great time having you all here! Now I can claim to have had all 3 of the monkies here and I have video proof! I really appreciated the home made jack, it goes well with my awesome hammer and my Solid Rock boring bar. :-)

Hi Brian, do you need help finding all the banana peelings we left behind...???? "Only one...!!!" The second one should be on it's way soon enough.... Unless you plan to get here soon enough. Cheers, Pierre

I saw that was corrected for Robin. lol I doubt a trip north of the border is in the cards for this year. :-( So much to do here and the weather has not been helping!!! We are at that time of year with the big temp swings daily and just keeping things from flash rusting away is a huge chore. I need to get the shop climate control in action!!!

Agree about climae control, hitting a frozen finger HURTs Soooo much...

Thank you love this family business that Steve is sharing, you got one of those boring bars Pierre's Garage and that is how we found Solid Rock Machine, because he gave a boring bar to Emma who used in on some cast brass motor parts for a friends steam engine and it worked well so we went over and started watching Solid Rock now as well. We love this KZbin communities focused on making machined part, pieces, tools, machines and products. Thank you for the share.

Nice that Steve started his own private army, even much better so that they are all machinists... That can only improve how the world revolves... ;) I've seen Emma using the little bar and squaring the cylinders, she did a great job at it, Emma is a very nice and kind person, I even had a chance to meet in person on the 2017 Bash... Cheers, Pierre

For sure that was a mega trip - and impressive how many great folks you managed to see. As you know I was honored to have you visit my humble (very messy) shop - thx for the bit of footage :). Brian's massive machines are awesome... that's quite an operation he has there. You were lucky to meet the famous Jimmy D. Would love to have met Robin - his work is terrific. I must try and get one of the Solid Rock machine Shop boring bars one day when funds permit.
@pierresgarage26876 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, this was a great stop, never mind about humble shop, any shop that produces nice and useful parts merits the full recognition... ;) Yap, Brian got nothing under 3 tons, guess he's equiped for it, he manages to get by, machining BIG stuff on bigger machinery. Robin isn't that far from your location, maybe on a nice day, never now. ATB, Pierre

Man, that was quite the trip! Glad you got home safely. Saw Chris' video from your visit, you could tell he was thrilled to have the company. Thanks for sharing, it's good to see how personable it seems most people in the hobby machine community are.

You're right about Chris being happy to see us, this could be suspicious... lol Baaah, no way, he's a real good fellow...!!! We also enjoyed... Now we need a speed nap to recover from that trip, the years are starting to slow us down, we're near the age where the afternoon nap in a must... This community is made of a great bunch of individuals, all worth spending some time with... Cheers, Pierre

When we travel, there is no way to know how close we can be from anyone unless we've been notified in advance, funny how it goes... You're shure welcome to stop for a visit, just let us know a little in advance so we could fix smoething... ;) Cheers, Pierre

It's posible but not certain here also, it will be probably a last minute decision, hope to be able to make it, though... This time there wouldn't be any vacation or touring along.

Nice road trip. That must have been exciting handing your work over to Robin for his inspection.
@pierresgarage26876 жыл бұрын
We were lucky enough to leave before Robin found out any defects... lol He showed us some pretty amazing things he did along the years, this was an absolute treat... Those tours are so much fun, but quite tough on older bones. Hope your shop project is "Chooching along...!!!" Even slowly... ;) Cheers, Pierre

Slowly is the word. Municipal development seems like drag racing a glacier and losing. It will happen in due time. I just have to stop myself from shopping before it gets built.
@pierresgarage26876 жыл бұрын
Just like global warming, municipal authorities are a sure fact, not necessarily doing what's best for us, individuality isn't a priority over there... Sadly... :( And we say that shopping is women's favorite pastime... lol

The Meet & Greet was a grand event, I'm glad you guys were able to make the trip. I didn't see those particular surfaces on those angle blocks. Were those Swiss made? ;-) Someone clearly considered those to be "consumables." As for the Bailey Seal Of Approval, better check his dog-bone account for any kickbacks from Canadian Tire ...
@pierresgarage26876 жыл бұрын
Those Swiss angle plates are quite practical, the more holes already made, the less you need to make when setting up... ;) Those will last a very long time, not considered like consumables, even full of set-up holes. Now we need some recup time to recover from all that trip. ATB, Pierre

I know what you mean, it usually takes a day or two for me to get "home functional" after a turn out. It might take more for those that are not regularly out on long trips.
