I found Monica Vitti very intriguing in the way she played the part - she was also so unusual looking with her almond-shaped eyes - all through the film I couldn't decide if I liked her nor, if I thought she was beautiful or not, even at the end I could not feel sorry for her.Thank you for the great presentation by the way.

Hou Hsiao-hsien and Jia Zhangke are two I could make out. Both extremely accomplish directors, presumably inspired by L'Avventura.
