I feel like if Dillon just took the fight 100% seriously..even if he got wrecked or even knocked out he could argue that he’s simply not a boxer and still sold the entire event. There would’ve been an avenue for him to play off the loss. But building up the fight that much just to not even engage was probably the worst thing he could’ve possibly done imo and I just find it very puzzling. I don’t know any of these people in real life so it doesn’t affect me but it would be a lot easier to respect Dillon had he had actually showed up and TRIED. His foot work and such I didn’t even actually look that bad he just didn’t throw any punches. If only the fighters took the event as seriously as the event coordinator. I get that at first many fighters didn’t think too much of it at first, but as the hype grew so quickly they could have taken it seriously. They should have treated it as the goldmine that it was for otherwise unimpressive boxers who would never be able to earn such figures in the professional boxing ring. Hopefully they manage to put together another match with a larger roster of fighters who treat it like the golden ticket that it is, have at least six month training camps and really put a polish on „exhibition matches“ as a whole. I think a rematch should be done, that way the hype train keeps moving and building it up more. Everyone is asking themselves what if Dillon trained properly, what if it was a ten or twelve round match etc? The event could easily build up even more tension etc with those exact questions. Give both Logan and Dillon dedicated PR teams, guaranteed pay per view tickets and bonuses for standing eight counts, knock downs, KO finish etc. it could easily be made into the biggest boxing event of the year. Keep on slaying it with the epic content.
