He's not scoring because, unlike Spain, Germany, or even England, they constantly attack with 4, 5, 6 and 7 players in the box. He's usually on his own in the box, making scoring difficult as multiple defenders can focus on him because Portugal doesn't have others there. ANd when they do they score, look at Portugal's goals, 100% of them are on the back of Ronaldo's moves. Did you watch the games?

Anyway, the main reason he hasn't scored is because his finishing hasn't been good enough. He's also missed 4 big chances, and a penalty. Also, having the most shots obviously doesn't translate to a player touching the ball a lot. There's no better example of that than a player like Haaland. CR has averaged just under 30 touches per game, which for a team who has the amount of possession Portugal does is anything but a big amount.

As a 12 year old playing football in a final we were beaten 2-1 (I remember one of our players crying after the game because we were beaten. Passion, desire etc are not enough to win. Ability matters. Ronaldo is a legend but this euro has been proof that he’s way past his prime and the manager playing him for 120 whole mins while young talents are benched itself is a disgrace. For me, CR7 is the goat, yes Messi is also great, not denying his talent at all. But after CR7 left Juve, it has been Messi who has been clearly better than him. Cristiano has taken a few disastrous decisions career wise, starting with leaving Real Madrid at the peak of his powers. Had he been at real for another 3-4 years, he would have won another CL, may be two more, and at least one more Bdor. But I am afraid, he is diluting his career now.
