I was always under the impression that smelting Nether Gold Ore produced slightly more gold than breaking it down with Fortune III (That may be outdated info seeing that you broke down 3 stacks of Ore and got 3 stacks + 2 Ingots). It's definitely less of a pain to just drop the Ore in a Blast Furnace, and I think you end up getting slightly more XP that way as well. Just a thought. Also, I built and used the Nether Gold farm from one of your previous videos in my long-term survival world. Thanks again for the design! EDIT: The Piglins may have stopped Bartering because they will sometimes pick up the Boots that they drop before they go in the Hopper, so the next Gold Ingot never gets dispensed. I bet if you look at the ones that stopped, you'll see Soul Speed Iron Boots on them.
@Navie052 жыл бұрын
I believe you still get more by smelting rather than by stacking. Foxy used 238 nether gold blocks to get 194 ingots. Smelting would've provided 44 more ingots. Maybe not worth it to wait so long?
@SvarrOS2 жыл бұрын
Imo smelting the ore is definitely more efficient. According to the wiki, Nether Gold Ore drops 8.8 nuggets on average with Fortune III. Also, breaking the block grants 0-1 XP while smelting guarantees 1 XP per block. I'd even argue that smelting is faster if you have a decent furnace array. Additionally, you can spend the time needed for smelting with doing something useful.

True, but fuzzy foxy probably just wanted to make use of his stringy.
@soultundra78692 жыл бұрын
Yeah smelting is generally more efficient, but I always like to try my luck and see if I can get more by using fortune on it... it's like a gamble... is fortune gonna be more efficient this time, or should I have smelted.... sometimes it works in my favour, sometimes it doesn't XD

The glitch still works where if you piston a gold block back and forth they finish their trades instantly. I learned that from Silent a long time ago and it still worked today
@henryash382 жыл бұрын
Foxy!! I know you don't care much about the speed, buuut if you place a sticky piston that continuously pushes and pulls a block of gold and do this inside your piglin bartering farm, whenever the gold block gets moved, all of the piglins *instantly* finish their barter! It is great. I just tested it (on Bedrock of course) and the piglin doesn't even need to be able to see the gold block moving, it just has to move. I guess they can sense that their gold might be being "stolen"? I also found out why your piglins stop bartering: First, the hopper below them gets very full of items (takes a long time to empty). Then, because the hopper always has items in it from the piglin, the comparator doesn't turn off. Because the comparator is always outputting a redstone signal, the dispenser stops activating. (dispensers only activate when their redstone input goes from being off to being on, obviously) As you said, a well timed clock system would probably work and fix everything. You could even somehow combine the clock with a piston pushing a block of gold, however I have a feeling this could result in lots of gold getting through the system and into your storage. If you were that bothered about it I guess you could make a gold filter somewhere but idk. Cool video, fun farms are fun.

Glad to hear that the gold-agro trick is still working based on your testing.

that’s the way i do it too. i trapped a guy in a ‘pen’ and gave him some gold armor to wear so he won’t despawn. toss him a stack of gold and turned on the sticky piston/gold block machine. he gets pissed off but he still tosses all his stuff. takes less than a minute to go through a stack of ingots.

I use the block and piston on a clock it's nice to adjust the speed. It's set to about 4 seconds so a normal item sorter can collect everything fine. It's at my nether hub so it always runs.

Unless they've changed something, bartered with piglins are supposed to become persistent in the same way that bred/fed animals are. However, as this is Bedrock, we know that 'persistent' has a totally different meaning. 😏

Since you trigger on hopper contents instead of hopper empty, if they miss a gold ingot it turns off if they dropped a large stack of items since the hopper never emptied before they dropped the gold.
@hammackface45122 жыл бұрын
The way I fixed my piglins from not picking up the gold in my farm was to put 3 tick delay repeater into the hopper that are standing on. (I have this attached to a hopper clock that fires the dispensers above their heads) Only problem I've found is that the system will get clogged up as a result of the hoppers not unloading fast enough into the line of I try and do a lot of good at a time. I've been using 8 piglins though.

Hey foxy, love your stuff! Thanks making the bedrock version a little more interesting. Can you make a light level detection for 1.19 or update the old one of yours?
@themadhatter733 Жыл бұрын
Just fyi you can throw the nether gold ore straight into a furnace rather than mining it into nuggets, that way you get more gold. You started with about 8 stacks of ores and ended with roughly 7 stacks of ingots, but if you just cooked the gold ore it would have been exactly as much as you put in the furnace.
@theFunkyThumb2 жыл бұрын
You should make sure you give them all armor, because whenever they trade armor they're gonna put it on them first, causing that system to stall
@AdverseLemon22 жыл бұрын
The issue with the trading is that the hopper is still full from the previous trade when the piglin trades again (or misses the gold), so the system doesn't cycle. The first, slower, system should work fine.👍

theres a Stupid bug where Piglins want pick up gold after a trade! i think it has something to do with there trade refresh speed idk its supper annoying since my Piglin farm runs on 16 Piglins I had to make a filter for gold because i get so much going through the system is irritating! I cant wait to switch over to Java to do Restone, Bedrock Restone and bugs are super fucking irritating to deal with! My base suffers from extreme FPS loss and i cant figure it out some patch updates ease it up and some make it worse then before its getting Fucking dumb and I'm starting to loose my patience! I had to rip out my old Storage system because the lag completely broke it, and i haven't been able to make a new sorting system in over 6+ months because there to much Lag/FPS loss it breaks anytime i try something!

Hard watching the blocks converted into nuggets instead of being smelted into one ingot per block. So much gold lost 🥲
