maybe try mepps 5 spinner. mepps baits are killer river musky baits,or the biggest rapala husky jerk in uv its a great bait and works good in skinny water.havent seen you throw any buzzbaits yet.good luck tight lines!!!

Dussas..... big pull pick up slack pull pick up slack rip up repeat. Very cool seeing everybody getting into musky! Get either double 8s or 9s bucktail, glidebait, Poseidon or a swimbait and a topwater prop bait. Good luck look forward to more of these

When I lived in Iowa the mini bulldog or Medusa worked great. I told myself they see so many big baits, the small baits gave me confidence.

When I throw that tire of rubber musky lure whether its a bulldawg or a dusa, I use a series of long pulls, almost like an exaggerated slow jerk bait. Also, as often as you can try to set the hook back into the fish if they hit close to you.

That lure is called the medusa and straight retrieve it then do a figure 8 when you you get it back to the shore when you see one follow do it for longer

When people ask me how to catch a river musky I tell them to use a natural color 1/2-3/4oz bass spinnerbait with willow blades. Or a big bass plastic on a bass jig. You’ll get em. And when you use big plastic like bull dawgs and Medusa’s I always do best with a pull and pause retrieve. They will hit on the pause so be ready. Good luck!!

Up in wisconsin I've gotten 2 over 40 today and yesterday in a small spilling way of a sort. It's actually a dam but it's more exciting to call it a spillin way. If you're ever curious about a musky trip, I could point you in the right direction to catch numbers and a PB.

If you're failing to get fish to commit on a medussa, but you're getting follows, keep the color but switch to a smaller size. They sell mini medussas and even though fall is approaching these fish still prefer the smaller representation.
