That chimney….😱 As you say - better now than in the depths of winter. It’s bittersweet with the pigs but that is their purpose on the smallholding and they had a brilliant life with you guys and you have plenty of pork for your family. Enjoy that tomato if you haven’t already! 😉 xx

Yes, we wouldn’t fancy fixing it in the winter 🥶 The pigs certainly had a great life, everything we could have asked for. Thank you xx

Tracy, I was sad to see the pigs go but I know it has to be done. Your tomatoes are looking fabulous! My tomatoes are changing colour and I'm dead chuffed with them! I can't keep up with this flipping weather! Rain sun rain sun, yet the rest of the country is basking in sunshine. Have a good week chick 🙂

You too Kim! Thanks for watching as always and sounds like you’re having a great tomato year! That’s fab. I think we’re due for some sun here after today. It’s dark and miserable out there when I’m typing this x

Oh dear, that’s the only advantage of renting no household repairs are my responsibility. Good to have found out about the chimney now rather than once you need it

Pork all looks amazing! Will be really interested to see what you do with the offal as I’m aiming to teach myself how to use less popular cuts and offal this winter. Fab video, once again, thanks!

Thank you! I’m looking forward to it, I’ve just rendered the fat today to make lard which will be our oil for the winter which I enjoy the process of x

We finally found out about the solar panels on the roof which is going to be an incredible difference to us electrical cost wise. So grateful. Basically it means the dehydrator is about to start working over time during the day because we don't have to pay for it :D Prices are ridiculous with no reason for them to be right now so the more I can get done in the daytime the less we have to worry about in winter xox Great you have the pigs sorted for freezer camp I would love to know how the river cottage brine went, i've always wanted to give that one a go for something different. Take care have an awesome one xox

That’s a great plan! Hope you get sorted with that soon. I’ll pop something in this week about the brine as we’ll be testing the ham when the kids are back from their jollies. Take care my lovely xx

I used a loop of bailer twine to get my pugs into the trailer. Looped over the snout and behind the front teeth.

I’ve got a few toms that have had blossom end rot. Apparently calcium helps the plant to recover. I think the heatwave is the cause of it tbh. You chimney problem is my worst nightmare. Ours was serviced just before we moved here in March so hopefully it’s gonna be fine this winter 🤞🏻

I hope you’ll be fine for the winter too! These things are sent to try us 😆 X

Great vid as always,my toms also had blossom end rot this yr,ive sprinkled epsom salts round each plant and watered in and fingers crossed the new fruits are ok. Im envious of your rain ive had nothing for about 8wks now and ive run out of water at my land so now carting 200 litres a day down for the horses etc its a pain in the butt, why do we do it lol and the damn chicken keep escaping and raiding my polytunnel bloody birds :)

Fingers crossed for your toms! I hope you get some rain soon, we’re back to bring dry here. Sounds like you have your work cut out there! Best of luck. Made me smile tho 😆
