You can eat them but in the area that we hunt they carry Liptosclerosis (spelling) so we don't eat them. There is a big overseas market mainly Germany who buy wild pigs from Australia.

one of the guys passed on he was a pig guy I never hunted with him, I hear he was good at it. Well the folks wanted to get rid of his stuff. So I bought them out he has some good equipment. But now I have too much three 30-06 rifles two carbine 30-30 levers shotguns 22 rifles... regular arsenal! problem is I cant justify the new AR that I was looking at...however I am looking forward to our hunt in south TX after the new year. the pigs are really active then. farmers are done grain on the ground. always fun seeing the great outdoors of down under!

No doubt a semi would be great for this, but I reckon a bolt would make you think about your shots a lot more. To a decent shooter, charging a bolt action isn’t a huge thing to do, but knowing you’ve only got the shot until you’ve gotta reload puts a bit more pressure on you for the perfect shot. Just my opinion.
