I'm a biologist and not a hunter but many of my friends are. Someone has to do this as it is vital for balanced nature conservation. Also, hunters donate tons of meat to local food banks annually. Thank you!!

thanks for the response, yeh got good mates. my biggest problem there is almost nothing Im not interested in. I was introduced to the world of high end air rifles. Makes shooting rats, mice and pidgeons far easier. A company makes a 800 dollar 50 cal air rifle capable of taking a deer. Soon as I find it again I will send you the link for interest. He shots a deer with an arrow, the damn arrow goes through the deer. The air tank on the rifle takes 50 lbs pressure, that is some torque. Another hunter shoots a bear with a blow gun. Man and his imagination!!!! be safe!

Some amazing shooting from a moving vehicle. I recently watched a video on KZbin of wild boar hunting in a central European country. If memory serves me I think it was Romania. They used dogs as well and fired indiscriminately all over the place. How they didn't shoot each other, or the dogs I do not know. In many cases the boar were wounded but escaped, which I found to be unacceptable. It's good to see hunting properly carried out. What a difference!

Thanks mate yes we try to keep our shots when we know that we can hit a vital area every time. However, at times a shot up the bum of a fleeing pig is needed

Gday. You may have answered this before but what do u do with the carcasses? Leave them where they drop or harvest em for meat (any issues with disease/parasites?). Also how r feral populations of pigs managed as far as pest control? Would farmers accept free assistance with it or is it more diy/experienced pros that handle it? Cheers

Yes we leave them mate as they carry diseases so it is pest control and we are just recreational shooters.

What would be ur figure of hunting pigs till date approx?
@HuntingwithStu
@HuntingwithStu 4 жыл бұрын
Mate that would be almost impossible to work out. However, lets run some figures: I have been hunting pigs on and off now for more than 40 years. Some trips I shoot 50 pigs and other trips I shoot 10. I go out pig hunting approx 3 times a year but averaging it out over 40 years lets say 2 times a year. Sooo: 40 x 2 = 80 trips x say 20 pigs a trip = 1600 pigs which is probs right maybe more.

which dog for best for hog hunting
@HuntingwithStu
@HuntingwithStu 5 жыл бұрын
I don't use dogs but I think it comes down to the type of hunting. Ie: if you hunt with a knife then you need good luggers like bull Arab x dogs. However, if you are hunting with a firearm then all you need is a dog that can sniff them out and possibly bail like a kelpie or even fox terrier.

I wasn't paying attention to the location... till the kangaroo hopped by. I thought that they we here in Texas... till I saw the trees... we don't see to many Aussy hunting videos as everyone in America has been lied to about Australia being a "gun fre country"...

Gidday stu , breeding cycle of a sow, she can breed at 6 months, gestation period of 3 months, 8 to 12 piglets born , at least half will be females, one sow can have 2.25 litters per year, crazy maths of how many pigs per year, conditions have to be near perfect for these numbers, weather, feed , eg , see if you can work out year totals with a cold bundy , having a yarn with ya mates at camp😂. All I know is the tally is a lot of pigs, . Happy shooting blokes👍👌🐾
