I loved seeing the results on you, stunning. You have such beautiful hair. Hair stylist Mell's pigtails cut has been a life saver for so many of us curlies, as it's so simple and can't go wrong really if you follow her instructions. I have medium length thin (low density) fine hair so I have been doing it since her video came out just for hair on top, u-shape from temples/ recession lines to just above occipital bone, leaving the hair below one un-layered length. That way, I don't get see-through scraggly ends as would happen due to my thin hair. Also raised my pigtails to close to the top of my head and didn't do bangs (included hair in that area in the pigtail). It works well. May try doing bangs sometime. I'm glad you recorded and uploaded this, it's so wonderful to see others' results.

What happens if you don’t cut the perimeter at the end? Does the pigtail cut not cut the perimeter at all?

Cutting it is optional in my opinion. Any video I’ve seen about it, they don’t cut the period
