This gave me the itch, so I started up Tag Force 3 recently. They give you a warrior toolbox deck to start out with and it's very strong for a beginner deck. The only times I lost were due to incompetent partner AI, like Alexis holding onto a Marshmallon for 3 or 4 turns and setting her crappy vanilla monsters instead. Oddly it's based on the final season of GX, but there are also very early 5Ds era cards in the game. Fun times. Edit: unsure of its status on the banlist during this time, but Limiter Removal is a card to look out for. It's bonkers for pushing OTKs with Cyber Dragons.

It was legal most likely and yeah- With Cydras, it's definitely a thing that you can abuse, especially with this era of Cydra. Cyber Twin Dragon is the most easily abusable. It can attack twice at 2800 per hit, so you are basically quadrupling the amount of damage, doubling the attack to 5600 and doubling your hits for a total of 11200 damage if it is unblocked. Following that, if you somehow didn't kill the enemy, say you are being walled by bunch of cards, you can then de-fusion as a quickplay, getting two Cyber Dragons that are 2100 beaters and avoid destroying your Cyber Twin Dragon. This is to also not mention Power Bond being a legal card, which allows you to do a fusion summon of a card and double the attack points of the monster, meaning theoretically, you could get a 11200 attack point monster that can attack twice and only take 2800 damage at the end of your turn. Toss some Bamboo Swords into your deck and you have the perfect deck for just an all out offense. Cursed Bamboo Sword can allow a direct attack Limiter Removal Doubles Machine Monsters attacks Power Bond can double a fusion monster's attack Cyber Twin Dragon, a machine fusion monster, can attack twice De-Fusion can give you even MORE hitting power if you can't attack directly or can't kill with a direct attack Like, genuinely, Cyber Dragon is such a good card and the things they can pull off can be Grade A Horseshit, even back in older Yugioh. Like they could make a one hit KO deck from the start. Tag Force is actually worse about it because Upstart Goblin is unlimited surprisingly. Like, it wouldn't be entirely consistent but it could be a consistently good deck with a major way of gaining card advantage, and high potential for a turn two kill. Deck List Brewing RQ: 3 Upstart Goblins, 3 Golden Bamboo Swords, 3 Cursed Bamboo Swords, 1 Broken Bamboo Sword would give you 3 tutors for Golden Bamboo Sword by sending Cursed Bamboo to the grave by any means, +6 Card Advantage from GBS, +3 card advantage from Upstart Goblin, and Broken Bamboo to tutor out if you run out GBS or play if you have GBS and no Bamboo Sword in play, which in general is basically a recipe for ensuring that you have the cards you need at any given time at a fourth of your deck. So you are effectively running 30 cards with 6 draw effects that give you a +9 card advantage, four cards that inhibit that, and three of those can both tutor the draw effect AND serve an additional purpose in the Battle Phase. Subtract Power Bonds and Limiter Removal as well as Cyber Dragons and you are down to 21 cards, throw in 2-3 De-Fusions; 19-18 cards remaining. If you run something like The Light - Hex Sealed Fusion or King of the Swamp, you can end up with a few less cards you need in your deck. TL;DR Yeah, Cyber Dragons are just set up to be the perfect vessel for an OTK deck during this era.

Love the series and the everything you're doing here as a fellow casual yugioh player. But I can't help but yell at my screen everytime your trunk gets opened and you don't put in 7 Colored Fish with 1800 attack and a fish type so it gets the boost from Umi to 2000. You had 3 copies for so long now and still running dudes with like 1500 attack.

Tag Force 1 is cool, one thing I loved is that the winning and desperation theme are based on the JP music from the show. Probably the first time any kids outside of Japan heard Jaden's theme.

I know it’s been a few months but I wanted to put this here in case you didn’t know. There is an unofficial Tag Force game. While it doesn’t have it in the title, it shares a lot of elements and even has the same player character from the Tag Force games in it. It’s Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL World Duel Carnival. It’s localized version had quite a lot of content removed sadly though. It reduces a lot of the characters you can tag up with and even gets rid of the ending pictures for the characters. However, I wanted to let you know about it in case you decide to play it in the future since you’re doing the Tag Force series. Also I don’t know if you’re aware but Tag Force 6 is only in Japanese (unless someone fan translated it)

I feel the newer yugioh games have the issue that so much has been added to the series/games the past 25 years that they can be overwhelming to anyone that hasn't kept up with them. Just in all the special summoning types alone you have Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, and Link Summons, all with their own cards. In some of the newer games the player is very much at a disadvantage if they aren't well versed in them and know how to deal with an opponent that has that kind of deck.

the L and R buttons bring 2 different shortcut menus one lets you talk, duel, and give gifts (sandwiches and "key" objects {that I'm pretty sure there's like 2 or 3}), and something else that I don't remember and the other one has a shortcut to exit the place and go to the map instantly all while still being able to move around

Deepsea Warrior is like Gravekeeper’s Descendant and is unaffected by other spell cards when Necrovalley is on the field. I believe the ruling is that it does not get the bonus 500 ATK. Knowing YuGiOh, Umi and Deepsea Warrior could be ruled the opposite because.. YuGiOh

Was that an illegal summon of cyber twin dragon that Zane made? The AI used a fusion substitute card but the effects on Cyber twin dragon say it can only be fused by the above cards being to cyber dragons. Or am I missing something?

I played Tag Force 2 as a kid all of the time and would of played it almost forever if my PSP didn't break. It stopped charging and no matter what charger I used (I had multiple) it just wouldn't work. and then the other PSP I had the disk opener thing broke. I don't think I ever played Tag Force 1. So I decided to download Tag Force 1-5. I played 3 for like 30 minutes and beat it with Blair as a partner. In Tag Force 2 I always select Aster when I played. I played this for like 2 hours so far and I got Alexis as a partner but her deck is bad. I think Zane is the only one worth using so far as a partner but I only have a 50% win rate against him and I never select the correct conversation thing with him ether :(

Legacy of the Duelist was the first Yugioh game he played on the channel. BUT, he already knew the rules back then, so it wouldn't actually help you out starting there either. I'd recommend you watch a few tutorials and learn the rules of the game, and then come back to the series.
