Pike fishing with dead bait in winter

In the first session of 2022 I'm back behind the dead bait rods, I won't let Man flu stop me 😂👀💪
Of course my main target is to catch the first fish of the year but I would really like a nice double figure or 100cm fish!

Fair play, great few fish ,was out today seen the most unusual thing,a big aul pike followed my mauris mouse a few times but couldn't get it to take, finally let it lay on the bottom and she lifted it,was some sport even though I missed her!! I'll be back tomorrow with a sardine. Love ur shed! Keep the videos coming

Nice to see someone fishing with no more than 2 rods on the deadbait, I dont think it sporting to be putting out 3/4 rods at a time and alarmed... then sitting cooking food. Witnessed someone at the weekend with 6 Rods out, - blocked the entirety of the jetty for anyone else (he was fishing at the corner) and was sitting about 15-20 metres away from his rods, because it was "too cold and windy" to be closer to them, he was hiding behind a moored boat. Well done on being a proper angler!

Howdi why the sinker under the float? Less resistance when the fish pulls so he doesnt feel the line? Im in Germany and the lake i fish on looks like the one in your video and is full of Pike and Walleye but i cant get a bite!!! if i could catch as many as you i would b happy :)

Yes I use inline weights so when the Pike takes the bait the line pulls freely through it

Thanks mate and the same to you. Emm it's not something iv done much of to be honest, we used to get a needle and pump air into the worms so they popped up slight off the bottom.

When your fishing with a float how do you know where to have the float stop and happy new year

I usually cast out with no bait on and test it out until the float lies on its side half cocked, then I know I'm just over depth.
