Thank you very much. Those imperial tercio pikeblocks where hard to break.They had to get that shock/stun effect in or the push would be a fail, rather a slaughter on them self. As it happend at Lutzen where the Swedish Yellow Brigade almost got wiped out because they where facing Imperial vetaran regiment that knew what was coming and counter the Sweds push with their own volley before the Sweds even got to it. 😃

Thank you very much mate. I took me some time to add puddles, its adds something to it. The next Regiment Im doing a video on has puddles on almost all bases. I used Vallejo Water Effects: Still Water mixed with some muddy color. 😃

I rather spend an extra coin on some high quality flags then those that comes in the basic box. But those that come in the box works great too. I just like to go over to top with it all. Flags are like the berrys on a cake for me. 😃👍

I’m building Italian wars Swiss and landskenecht pike blocks. What colour and how should I paint the pikes. Thanx mate in advance for your advice.

What I do is I try to speed paint the pikes with first Contrast paint wlyd wood color. Then add some watering Vallejo - Beige Brown and then small splashes of desert sand. And end with just GW -Seraphim Sepia all over - done. Try to keep it simple, dont want spend to much time on painting pikes because its so boring. Try some of all the diffrent brown colors to find what you feel looks best. Good luck. 😃👍

Sorry, but the volley fire WAS intended to kill and / or wound! The ‘Shock’ effect was caused BY the killing and wounding. The Swedes did not shoot to ‘scare or startle’ the enemy. It was to kill! To suggest volleys we’re fired to inflict some sort of ‘stun grenade concussion’ effect is ridiculous! Why load a projectile? You might as well just fire off powder! Beautiful miniatures btw.

Thx😀! Indeed you are correct. Thank you for the correction. The " shock " is a combination of the killing volley. Nobody shoot just powder in battle. Its about the aftermath of the volley. Use the momentum to overwhelm enemy as soon you gain fire superiority. All smoke also add up to confusion & shock after big volleys. Live round powder shot generete more smoke then those volleys we can see from reenactment videos where they shoot only powder.
