I've only followed / done runs on GC pikmin 1 - at day 1 impact site I thought "oh, you can throw so much further in this game, that's kinda neat" But I didn't actually realize by HOW MUCH until I saw the throws at 15:55 and *actually recoiled*, that's so insane Amazing run

13 days Is my record it always took me 2 days for impact site 3 days for each of the following areas forest of hope, forest navel and distant spring. Then I could get to and kill the bulblax in one day however I didn’t have time to bring the part back so I’d always have to come get it on day 13

@@spencerbowden2979 with proper routing and strategy, you could get it down to 10 by spending 2 days in the main 3 areas (9 if you can defeat the emperor and get the safe in time)

It's so satisfying to see these tougher enemies get fooled or outright annihilated. Countless pikmin had been eaten or murdered in my teens when I was proud to finish all parts in like 26 days 😂 GG for this run, that was a real treat to watch.

I figured it out. He drowned them bc he needed more blue pikmin since the number of them in the field was very close to 100. Otherwise, he would have had to go back to the red/yellow onions to empty them out and get more blues which would have waste time.

There are lots of small reasons it's not worth it, but the main one is that it gets in the way and slows other stuff down. Also it changes the part count, so I would not be able to get the Area Cutscene Skip as at 16:55

I'm sorry in advance if I'm wrong, but... is this sharked? 🤨Because there are a few features that I never saw before in Pikmin playthrough, and I don't mean the shortcuts. I mean stuff like throwing red and blue pikmin way longer than they should be able, or picking up pieces on their own when they're un-selected, or not destroying growing pellet stems when Pikmin walk over them... Even the Snagret head reappearing in the exact same spot, for me it always appeared from another hole close around.

Cutscene skips are caused by a race condition, which means 2 things happening at once, getting the unexpected behaviour. Sounds will disappear until you trigger a few textboxes or go to sunset as a byproduct.

I discovered that specific OOB. I've been playing for a while now, and I've done lots of challenge runs that involve part pushing and object pushing, so I'm reasonably experienced in that area. Further, I've done speedruns dating back to my 50 pikmin run or 5 parts runs 6 years ago that use this trick.

Yeah. You need gyro on, have your aim at its furthest normal and then as you press and hold the throw button you can extend it further by using the gyro untill you let go for long enough after wich it retracts back to normal range (the not holding it for long enough is importand because it allows you to spam throw at an extended range, something you couldnt do in the original)

What version is this? PAL, NTSC? Is their a difference? I've got the gamecube version and want to try this but if the clock goes slower on one version, (PAL or NTSC) or a version has bugs removed I'd like to know beforehand.

This is the Switch version, which as far as we know has no regional differences. I am in Europe. Playing on GC, avoid PAL as it runs at 5/6 speed. It doesn't matter too much, I learnt pikmin speedrunning on PAL for months. NTSC-U is the preferred GC version because secret safe weighs 40 and therefore carries faster. That's the only valid difference.
