I don't know if Chuggaconroy mentioned it, so I will. If you have enough Winged Pikmin to carry an item on their own, they'll lift it off the ground, and any non-winged Pikmin will struggle to hold on before falling off. This can range from annoying (because you have to go fetch that other Pikmin) to terrible (because they were just carrying it over a river at the time).

You know what else sucks? SPOILERS FOR THE BOSS OF TWILIGHT RIVER. If you care enough to carry back every single bee corpse, of pinks get back first, they will stay at the onion and snatch up any other corpse another type of Pikmin is carrying, instantly making the corpse count for pinks. It really sucks if you need other types of Pikmin and the pinks just go and do that.

For journal entries (From what I've noticed) the captain that does it is usually Alph. However, if Alph all busy then another captain will take over. Other situations include that if the journal entry is story based one then the designers could of picked whoever they felt like it to write the entry. Also Brittany and Charlie will write more often if you have been playing for too long without story progress.

Ideas for Pikmin 4: The basic idea is that you control three or four captains in the daytime like normal (probably Olimar, Louie, Sacho, or Alph, Brittany, Charlie, and maybe Olimar), but then you also control three or four new characters who are stranded there in the nighttime. The reason these characters explore at night is that they are from a planet where most of the intelligent lifeforms who make up the society are nocturnal. The gameplay would be so much different, as newer enemies can show up depending on if it is day or night and that new and old Pikmin could get new abilities or statistics depending on if it is nighttime. The daytime crew would get: Red Pikmin - same abilities Yellow Pikmin - same abilities Blue Pikmin - same abilities Rock Pikmin - same abilities Winged Pikmin - same abilities The nighttime captains would control: Red Pikmin - At night, Red Pikmin become weaker and only deal the normal 1 damage. However, they also have a burning effect whenever they latch onto enemies due to their bodies trying to keep them warm at night. Yellow Pikmin - They can no longer be thrown as high due to the less vision, but they can electrify the glowcap plants and make them light up for a biref moment. Pikmin within the light will become flowers (or bomb-rocks) Blue Pikmin - As the temperature gets colder at night, so do Blue Pikmin, so you can throw them on top of a surface of water, they freeze it, and create a platform of ice that you can use to reach previously unexplored places. They can't go into the water or they'll freeze however. Black Pikmin - Since the enemies in the night are more dangerous, these Pikmin have evolved to where they are hard to see by them. They can carry thing back without worry of being detected and they cannot be shaken off by enemies, due to them having thorns on their hands. Orange Pikmin - These Pikmin can survive explosions and instead of flowers, buds, and leaves, they have pebbles, rocks, then bomb-rocks topping their heads. Pebbles do 0.75 damage, Rocks do normal damage, and bomb-rocks explode when attacking enemies, dealing 1.50 damage.

just an idea for pikmin 4: the koppai crew are heroes of the koppai and go back to earth- i mean pnf404 to find more fruit, just like the second half of pikmin 2, they are famous heroes and now have a better ship, "the delta" or something(im just saying). I absolutely love the flying pikmin. They bring things back pretty quick because they take shortcuts/avoid ground hazards and they just own flying enemies. Yeah theyre offensively bad otherwise but thats not really a big deal. 30 pikmin in a mix of red, yel, and rock will take care of just about everything while your tons of flying pikmin take everything back home.

The journal-writing duty is always Alph's. Notice that the only 2 days thus far that he didn't write the journal were the days that they recovered a transmitter that Alph spent all night integrating into the Drake. Brittney even alluded to this when she wrote the entry -- that she was happy to write the journal that night so that he could keep working. I'm pretty sure that he only relinquishes the duty when given another, more important one, in which case one of the others will step in for him.

I need to thank you Chugga. I beat Pikmin 3 shortly after it's release and thought I was done. As it turns out...there were a bunch of fruits I didn't get. So now I have a good excuse to go back to the game.

If pikmin 4 has some sort of blade pikmin which are deadly to enemies if thrown like rock pikmin and can cut through certain obstacles then Chuggaconroy will evolve into a psychic type pokemon and use foresight

11:55 Don't know what you're talking about here, but I've always seen that if you decide to jump on the lilypad just as it starts to go out of reach, your Pikmin might either simply go idle, or miss the lilypad and drown. Obviously, this is a problem with the Go Here! command, but I can't believe you didn't know about this.

which captain writes the journal partly depends on what you've accomplished, like if you just got a cellphone and Alph is upgrading the Drake, it's gonna be either Brittany or Charlie

Winged Pikmin was a great addition to the Pikmin franchise. And GOD THEY'RE ADORABLE!

A couple things to note, the dandelions have poor collision at their connecting points and will cause problems regardless of the go here command. The lily pads can only be used for so long until it progresses out of reach and your pikmin jump on with a delay so if your captain jumps last second the pikmin won't be able to jump on. All bosses have a maximum hit threshold so if you do too much or get to a certain point where it has a scripted move it'll survive, even with 1HP to prevent 2/3 round knockouts. You can charge on nectar to get all the leaf pikmin upgraded without missing any. As long as you're next to the onion after calling more pikmin you don't have to whistle them, the only time they will get stuck is if you deposit and withdraw a large amount which slows the animation. Blowfish guy could've been a 10 second kill with rocks in fact a large majority of this LP could be more efficient. You could've gotten the max amount of winged pikmin and gotten to the hornets nest(my nest) if the captains and pikmin weren't standing around. You clearly do a lot of research and from the few series I've seen you go really in depth but I feel this series might be a bit rushed. Just a little sidenote to Chugga's comment about captains having different dialog - In the first boss fight against the Armored Mawdad, if you play as Britney instead she says "NononoNONO STAY AWAY" when it begins to charge. My favorite captain quote~

Wow. I think something like that happened to me too but when I was jumping into a lilipad, Charlie and some Pikmin didn't make it and they were stuck in the lilipad for a minute. Some Pikmin even drowned too. Anyway I love the Winged Pikmin in this game. Not only are they really helpful but they look and sound so adorable!

Using the gamepad's touchscreen is actually better than using the Wiimote, but only if you're playing on the gamepad itself, so that you can see where you're touching the screen. Actually, I've noticed that if there are enough winged pikmin on an item to carry it themselves, any ground pikmin will hang on for a while, then drop off and get sad. My OCD says that green or orange should have been used before pink. Primaries, secondaries, and greyscale before using different shades of existing colors.

11:50 Any Pikmin in midair will fall directly to the ground when a cutscene plays. If there's no ground under them, you'd BETTER whistle them. That's why when I have an automated captain walking around lily pads and a cutscene appears, I gamepad-pan to them once it finished

I believe how the iridescent flint beetle works is that he appears on every even day, so he won't appear tomorrow but will again on day 12. I've played this game many many times, don't judge.
