Pikmin 3 - Day 14: Fruitless Efforts

Okay, let's pause for a moment and tally up Louie's utter douchebaggery. In Pikmin 2, he ate the entire cargo he was supposed to deliver, putting the company he works at in a state of financial crisis, forcing Olimar to sell his ship, the very ship he spent an entire month trying to rebuild to escape from a poisonous and hostile alien planet. This also forced Olimar to immediately race back to said planet to gather treasure before he even had a chance of being reunited with his family, whom he very well ran the risk of never seeing again. He then wanders off once the debt is paid, causing him to be left behind on the planet, forcing Olimar and his boss to go back to the planet AGAIN just to save his stupid ass. It's also implied, but not stated, that he also controlled the final boss. THEN, in this game, he steals the Koppaite's entire juice supply, very nearly dooming an entire planet to starvation in the process, for no reason other than he's a greedy bastard. Louie is a fucking dick!

What if the bad ending of pikmin 1 transfers to him having a dream about pikmin 2? So his dream goes something like this: He somehow manages to use his parts of his ship to get back home. Suddenly, he finds out he needs to sell his ship, go back to earth, get enough money, and finally go back home. BUT WAIT! LOUIE IS LEFT THERE! You go back, get Louie, and go back to hocotate. BUT WAIT! HE HAS TO GET MORE MONEY FOR NO REASON! Now-now, you may say this is invalid since most of the story focuses on Alph, Brittany, and Charlie. But, in dreams you can experience it in 3rd person, and the character of you that you control can't register what you see. And then... pikmin 4 confirmed... Results: SO, Olimar created Alph, Brittany, Charlie, Louie, new pikmin and more with his mind. He is reliving a never ending debt, because he is now a pikmin, never to be plucked. Let's consider each pikmin game a day. So he barely was planted as a pikmin in the first pikmin bad ending game. So it would take the entirety of the second game to get a bud. The 3rd game, a flower. The 4th game, who knows... A tree? But, if you complete the first pikmin game, the rest of the games aren't needed. Instead, olimar is at his home, with his family happily. That is why it is called a good ending. Whereas the bad ending never ends... Never..

*Pikmin 2 and Pikmin 3 spoilers!* Am I the only one that can't stand Louie? He's the reason Hocotate Freight went bankrupt since he ate his whole shipment of golden Pikpik carrots and straight-up lied about it to cover his own hide. Because of his actions, Olimar had to go right back to the planet that he could have died on before even getting to see his wife and kids that he didn't think he would get to see again. And then in this game, he just steals all of Alph, Brittany and Charlie's rations without a second thought (and Charlie's ducky! The nerve!). And if Olimar's notes are to be believed, he's hardly any help to him on PNF-404 and he even ditched Olimar when he was captured by the Plasm Wraith. People always bring up the Duck Hunt dog, Porky, Pigma and Metal Face when it comes to the most despised characters in Nintendo games but I still say that Louie deserves to be among those ranks.

PIKLUMINATI CONFIRMED! -I would recommend getting all the land fruit before obtaining the blue Pikmin. -There is an exploit you can do with wing Pikmin, which allows you to not only skip building the pot, but skip getting blue Pikmin altogether, allowing you to beat the game without obtaining blue Pikmin. While I still obtain blue Pikmin on my pkaythroughs, I do use this exploit to skip building the pot. I'm curious if Chugga will use this exploit. -The Charlie song has sold a whopping 5 copies! Let's keep up the good work! -The garden of hope song is MOOsic to my ears!

Unfortunately, from my experience, there is a wall in that mentioned exploit that doesn't go away until you pluck at least one Blue Pikmin. So I don't think a playthrough where you don't unlock Blue Pikmin is possible anymore [it might have been patched since this message, or it's exclusively in Pikmin 3 Deluxe].

To fight puckering blinnows, you can just disperse your pikmin with no lock-on if the enemy is close enough to kill it. This has saved many blue lives for me.

Emile just so you know, pikmin don't drown when they're stuck in the bubbles. You just can't use them until you pop the bubbles by throwing pikmin or the bubbles pop on their own

Lots of people hate Louie for the following spoilers: Stealing the carrots, causing Pikmin 2 to happen.. Getting left behind, making you open the Wistful Wild and it's evil caves. Not only AFTER ruining Hocotate Freight to the point where the president had to step in, he decides to make the player fight the Titan Dweevil, he decided to leave Olimar to go up against the final boss of Pikmin 3 on his own, run off WITH THE ONIONS, get the ALL OF THE ONIONS STUCK, gets kidnapped by the Scornet Maestro, after being freed, steals all of OUR food, blows up a CINDERBLOCK, crashes The Ship from Pikmin 2, and expects us to feed him? I'm sorry, but Louie is my favourite character here.

Last of the Pikmin found, Blue Pikmin, not surprising since these guys practically were always the last of the pikmin to be discovered in a way. They can actually swim and in water and now are fearsome when fighting underwater.

Emile, those bubbles are harmless. They're annoying but by no means a threat. I had reds and yellows get trapped in the bubbles, and all that happened is that they were immobile for a little bit.

Have you noticed that every different color of Pikmin has a discernible feature aside from the color? Reds have sharp noses, which might have something to do with their increased fighting ability. Rocks have rocky bodies. That's self-explanitory. Yellows have large ears, which might make them more aerodynamic which makes them able to be thrown higher. Winged Pikmin have large eyes, or maybe their some sort of shades that protect their eyes? And Blue Pikmin have mouths. Maybe it works like gills and allows the to breathe underwater.
