They casually made a freaking dog one of the strongest entities on PNF404. Like god damn, it can use all the elements, it can fly, and even after being beaten down by Pikmin 6 TIMES it's able to just hop away unscathed. Just got spoiled by the game because a friend sent me a video of Purple Pikmin walking around Oatchi, and this popped up as a recommended (It was over Discord so I had no control over what I saw as it doesn't use my actual YT recommendations) So I was spoiled on the Water Wraith, now, I don't care all that much, I'm not gonna be extremely pissed or angry about it, but please for the love of god stop putting spoilers in your thumbnails on day one of a game's release, It's such a shitty thing to do. Wait like 2 weeks to 3 weeks, it's really not that hard.

i love the fact that now you have different powered up versions of the privious bosses that you fought before them making a return and being much stronger than before as mario luigi bowsers inside story dx does this kirby does this even splatoon in octo expansion does this so i think it’s really cool that pikman 4 continues this tradition by making the stronger bosses not just have new designs and new attacks but even the final boss is from a previous boss that you fought before which is honestly really cool in my opinion and id love it if new super mario bros dream does this by having the secret world be like new levels but have the final green castle have harder versions of the bosses that honestly would be really cool but anyways awesome video keep up the good work my friend

I gotta say the bosses don’t feel engaging anymore, besides the sire hound, there’s like no cutscene or introduction for these bosses, some of them don’t even get any boss music, and that’s what made them more engaging in pikmin 3, I’d hope this game was going to be a mixer of that, but this game just feels like a rewrite from the first 2 games. Not to mention they also botched up the canon story.

3 had instances of overworld bosses with no music, like the snagerets and arachnorbs. 3 is the only game where the bosses had cutscenes, but 3 is also the only game where a majority of the bosses are very easy. 1 and especially 2 are all very real time, the boss doesn’t need to introduce itself to you because the second you see it it’s already trying to kill you and your pikmin. seeing an Emperor Bulblax pop out of the ground for the first time, or the Waterwraith dropping in on you your first time in submerged castle, or even just watching the Man-At-Legs stand up were very effective and didn’t need to stop the game to show you what these creatures were.

It’s arguably easier than 3 in combat seeing how bitter spray, and purple Pikmin break the game, barely any of the bosses in 2 are good because of it. 3 actually had well designed encounters that properly used their environments, used unique themes that helped them stand out, properly tested the mechanics of the game, don’t die immediately to using 10 Pikmin, and actually felt like boss fights rather than just a new enemy. They should have given some of the new bosses especially cutscenes, even for the Sovreign Bulblax, since there is nothing compelling about these fights aside from the final boss. Like, who is going to be talking about the Fluttertail when this game comes back again. No one will. Because they simply stand out enough. The Waterwraith and Man at Legs are remembered because of how they stand out from the otherwise mediocre lineup, with interesting gimmicks and attacks. Not because they immediately introduce themselves to kill you.

@@egbertmilton4003 ok I’m going to reply to all of your message in parts. “2 combat is arguably easier than 3”: i guess anything is arguable, but i genuinely have not come across a single person who agrees with this. The “purple and bitter spray” topic is an overused and misunderstood one. these sprays and pikmin exist and are very very easy to steam through the game with. which is why stocking up on them requires you to stop playing the actual game and just grind for them. there are not many purple spiderworts, not many creatures that drop spray at all, and purples are pretty rare and slow, so if you’re not careful they die easily. if you go into caves with 80 purples that’s fine, i never did that and many others don’t either, cause like whites they understood their scarcity. EVEN THEN, many bosses in 2 are much harder than 3. 3 has the charge button and lock on button, as well as many enemy health pools are destroyed and the attacks from bosses are very simple. Look at creatures like the Snageret from 2 and how much it changed for the worse, for example. The hardest fight in this game is the Quaggled Mireclops and it deserves massive recognition, it is a difficult fight and one of the best in the series. also pikmin 2 bosses can be killed with a single pikmin, 10 pikmin, 100, doesn’t matter, but they don’t die immediately. If anything, the health pools of pikmin 3 are very small but seem longer because they become intangible more often. Vehemoth Phosbat becomes invisible, Sandbelching Meedslug goes underground (for what feels like forever) Scornet Maestro flies away, Armored Crawmad has armor, etc. it’s fine if you prefer that that’s just preference, but realistically no they don’t have more health they just last longer cause of those factors. Pikmin as a series might benefit from cutscenes for some people maybe you’re right, however as a long time pikmin fan, a lack of cutscenes is what makes the game more interesting. stumbling upon the final sub level in a cave, not knowing where the boss will emerge from, is one of the most thrilling parts of the game. again, it doesn’t need to stop the game to make those bosses feel intimidating. Surprisingly, you mentioned two bosses in this game that are FROM 2 by the way. Man-At-Legs and Waterwraith (even if it’s a special case with it’s cutscene) are interesting boss designs that showcase how much 2 did for the series in terms of pikmin’s overall personality. and as someone who fought Fluttetail a few days ago, it’s one of the MOST stand out bosses to me in the game. a new mechanic centered around using the fire ball was very interesting and makes me excited to see more. And for your final point, no. i don’t think pikmin 4 has anywhere near a mediocre lineup. we can criticize certain bosses like the big yellow Wollywog and such for not being very special. but the rest? Armored cannon beetle return? Foolix early game? Smoky Progg? Groovy Long Legs? Pikmin 4 was not designed for the people who picked up 3 deluxe and didn’t play the rest of the series, pikmin 4 was designed for the long time fans who had been waiting over 10 years for their series to continue. Prime example is the sovereign bulblax. Anyone who’s beaten the first pikmin doesn’t need to be told how dangerous a massive emperor bulblax is, they already remember. same with when they see Smoky Progg. they’re already aware of how that is one of the most dangerous creatures in the series. Even new time fans can find massive enjoyment in discovering how intense or unique a lot of these creatures are. While i respect that this is your opinion, Id be lying if i said i really understood it. please feel free to reply again and explain further, i enjoy seeing other peoples experiences with the series
