This animation makes Olimar cooler than he already was by proxy. That he got stranded on a hostile alien planet and made it out alive, went back and saved the company he was working for from bankruptcy, while less capable people are shown to not be able to even survive in such an environment. On top of that, he repopulated a dying species which helped him in his expeditions.

This might just be my favorite pikmin fan animation of all time! not only does it gives a small glimpse at a little more of hocotates world but the characters designs as well as their company logo were all stellar, and the horror that is pnf 404 is really illuminated here it honestly paints olimar to be more bad ass than what he's typically portrayed as, I would kill to see a pikmin 2 mod all about these guys

I think the saddest thing here is that the president of the company that sent the doomed expedition crew would only be punished by investors and high-class people, not the families of the fallen. Also, I theorize the "Captian's Log" shows that the the device had become so dysfunctional, they spell things wrong.

Oh my god I love this!! Really good exploration of the concept of other companies trying to find profit on pnf-404 like Hocotate Freight did and discovering just how dangerous the wildlife can be. I think it fits really well into the established Pikmin universe. The name and logo for the new company are really fitting for Pikmin as well! Not to mention how pretty the animation is to look at. I’ve been watching this one hundred now and it’s very sad to see that there wasn’t completely prepare to be ready on PNF 404. With their entire rocket rocket gone they had no way to get back to their home planet and now they are stuck with the greed of money. They weren’t ready for the horrors that this planet had to offer. No proper equipment and there was hardly any communication or teamwork. And all they cared for was just the pokos. If you’re ever in the world of pikmin and you step in to the surface of PNF 404 you need to be ready because anything can happen. It’s very sad to see what happened to them but the animation is good and this makes me want to play Pikmin 4 even more and maybe write my own story after I bet it.

There's just so much to say about this short. The animation itself being so flawless and in tone with the actual games. The presentation being reminiscent of the series, particularly 2 and 3. The voices being believable and endearing despite how little we hear. The idea of how after the events of the games, people know that universe would be aware of the planet and would try to gain benefits from it without knowing what it could unfold. And how it is pretty much a Found Footage entry in seeing the documentation esque logs on the three characters as they work on PNF-404. It is brilliant. Very movie like and I even want to consider it headcanon on how that universe reacts to the Planet. I adore the world building this brings. Props, Wooden Turtle.

From that height, those creatures would definitely be more terrifying. Olimar must be some kinda legend on planet hocatate for his efforts. To survive the planet multiple times and come back with a mireade of treasures, all while surviving against creatures ever hundred times larger than him, truly a marvel. It’s a wonder why he kept working at the transport industry when he can make so much on his own. If he buys his ship back, all he needs is to buy a better suit for himself and he could just work for himself.
