I really admire your details in trying to portray what Hocotate is like, since we really only get a few short glimpses during Pikmin 2. The ring system hanging in the sky, the cityscape in the distance, the hovering vehicles... it all really fits what little preestablished knowledge we have about Olimar's homeworld. (Plus, the "grunge" look to everything, which fits the usual Hocotatian style!) The addition of the space-dogs, too - despite their living in a futuristic space age of intelligent robots and interstellar flight, it really does feel like life on Hocotate and elsewhere is remarkably ordinary for these tiny folk, even with their usually silly attitudes and shenanigans. (... I mean, who even gets away with naming their enterprise "All Devouring Black Hole Loan Sharks"...?)

Yeah I imagine this animation established a lot of headcanons for what hocotate is like. It really managed to capture everything you would imagine, plus maintaining that usual pikmin humor and charm.

Doesn’t Olimar say something in one of the games like “PNF-404 is beautiful, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the natural beauty of Hocotate?” This animation shows that so well; the rings over the sky, the stars, the desert scenery 👌👌👌 it’s so good. It’s exactly how I imagined it, I had to rewatch it again just to admire the effort put into the backgrounds. Turtle’s animations are always insane, but WOW does this one take the cake for how impressive the world looks! I want to vacation there

Those loan sharks were hunting him because he commited a mistake and used their service by accident, that was something he brought onto himself for being so careless, and Olimar is the real victim of the whole situation, he was dragged in that mess without given the chance to even see his family before departing back to PNF 404 under the very President's command, and he sold his beloved ship as well, which the debtors took as soon as he arrived, the only one to blame is Louie tho, because he caused the debt by eating a very important cargo of gold pikpik carrots And they weren't "dillydallying", they were working to pay the debt, fighting all sorts of monsters to retrieve the treasures And the President only really joins the adventure after you're done with the debt because he's avoiding his angry wife, the real boss who was on holidays, because the ship told her everything that happened, and she wasn't pleased in the slightest, and while he was with Olimar at the planet, she put the work on the company to fix her husband's mess

You did a fantastic job with this animation! Y'know, when you look at it like that, Sacho really has more merit to him than just being a lazy and greedy boss. I like to imagine he plated everything in gold simply because he was really overjoyed to be alive after this whole debacle, not just because he was needlessly spending money. (And to be fair, plating things with gold is still the cheapest thing to do regarding gold so yeah)

WOWOWOW! you managed to make me actually feel sympathy for Sacho! Despite his, er... Personality at times, LOL! We forget his time on the run was likely to be quite harrowing! The rendering in this truely is artful! That shot opening shot depicting the old house on the tree was honestly something of beauty. I adore their renders kept in notion with the clayform style of Pik2 as much as they can, smoothened yes, but I noticed the texture of the thumbprints when the light shines just right on the models. It'd honestly be really cool if you made an animation where a Hocotatian Xenobiology research company launched a research mission to PNF-404 their goal being documenting the planets wildlife to provide info to others seeking to venture to the planet on how to avoid aggressive confrontation with the native creatures and just better understand them, along with collecting treasures of course. Landing in an area of the planet where instead of finding creatures from the pik-min franchise, they encountered real life insects and arthropods, like ants, centipedes, spiders, butterfly's, etc.

Ok, I'm gonna say it. This is the best Pikmin animation I have seen (please ignore that the sample size is very small), and it makes me long for a Pikmin 2 movie to be made with this sort of animation style. Granted, it probably wouldn't happen without a Pikmin 1 movie, but you have given me hope that our favorite franchise be represented on the silver screen! Very well done here!
