I won a 5ml decant of this from BFL, and even one spray from a tiny decant is extremely potent in the opening and extremely long lasting. It's an acquired scent for me, definitely gives off a very luxury soapy yet vintage quality to it that smells very upscale. I would probably only wear this a few times over the course of several years, so I wouldn't ever see myself getting a bottle of it but I do appreciate the goal that it's accomplishing. Looking at the bottles I have now in my collection I would reach for either Creed Aventus or BR540 for daytime and nighttime formal scenarios, so I do already own some decent options that appeal more to my tastes. While I have warmed up to the scent, I would be much more likely to purchase other Xerjoffs (More Than Words, 1861 Renaissance, Casamorati Mefisto) than this one based on the evaluation. As always a very excellent and thorough look at this one, Manny! Really appreciate your insight into all things fragrance!

Two different genres, but I love this one as a floral aldehyde more than Richwood in its genre. I used to not feel that way off of card, but this one's dry down is top tier and grew on me with time. Thank you so much! =]

I got a sample of pikovaya dama, rich wood, damarose, fars, lira, allexandria 2 and finally dama bianca. Im so hyped. Was gonna blind buy piko but at 600 a sample is smarter lol.

Hey- what do u think of those that u sampled? Pretty diverse group. I have Richwood, Alex ii, Lira. Curious about Fars, Pikovaya, n Damarose.

@@ettescent603 alex 2 if soo good prob my fav, but pikovaya is a close second but its kind weird, definitely sample worthy. richwood and lira are good but not bottle worth for me. Fars is worse than alex 2 and damarose is quite boring imo, atomic rose from inito is much better than damarose personally.

Interesting and fun review. I like many of the Xerjoff fragrances that I have tried. Especially Lira. Sadly..they are rather expensive. But... I think they are quite unique. I'm trying to figure out your review on this though... is it fresh? It seems like from your description it might be a bit like some of the classic Diors? Like Dioresscence? Or am I completely off base? Or perhaps Chanel 22? thanks!

Initially leans fresh with the sparkly aldehydes and citruses, but dries down powdery and musky. Screams of vintage luxury. If you're a fan of stuff like No. 22 or 1932, this is a more unisex and modern take on that style of genre. Thank you as always! Hope you enjoy this one someday!=]

Great review. This is my all time favorite gem. IMO, nothing comes close to the luxury scent this evolves into on my skin. Will be in my collection for life.

Thanks for this video, Manny. I don't know if I'm willing to drop more than $200-250 on any fragrance, regardless of how good or interesting it smells. Gotta put a cap somewhere on this hobby! That still gets me BR540, Herod, Elysium, GIT and Aventus, which I'm more than happy with.

One thing I've always admired about you brother is your brutal honesty. Keep up the great work & PLEASE don't ever sell out like 99.999% of the other reviewers who get a little attention from these big name houses. Freebies are nice but NOTHING is worth ones integrity. Love the reviews man!

I don't mind receiving stuff from brands and then reviewing it fairly. And besides living in a country where it's legally difficult to receive stock, that's another reason why brands avoid me, TBH. That being said though, shout-outs to Xerjoff for being able to hold that, whether I was going to demolish this fragrance or not. And to be clear on my end, I am not opposed to people doing "paid" videos as long as the truth hasn't been compromised. Of course telling the truth about being paid is the first step, but sadly, not everyone prefaces anything in the first place, much to disappointment. Massive fan of xerjoff , and own several bottles. Even the price for samples of this will have you saying "excuse me!" Loved it from the sample i got , agree with everything you said. It wasn't love at first sniff but lord did it grow on me 😍 Great review mate 🙏

I love to wear this when I want to feel super clean for 16 hours. Mine fills whatever room I go into. I got this a couple of years ago as a gift. Although it was a decant, the bottle looked like a miniature Xerjoff bottle. So I've always wondered which formulation I got. The original formulation is extremely expensive and exclusive, so I'm thinking that I my bottle came somewhere between in the newer formulation. Great review

@@CascadeScents that's cool I kind of thought that, it looks like it was part of a gift set. The only difference I could find is that the original formulation has more aldehyde. I need to wear that some more, it feels or smells like you just took the most luxurious shower or bath and the smell continues even to the next day

Pikovaya Dammn Ma ! Really quality juice here, love the musk in this. You put a dent in your bottle already lol. The performance on this is beastly when I tried it in the spring, the back story on it makes me want to read up on the Novel for sure. Solid review.

Sounds really good! But I wonder if jasmin note is strong, I do enjoy jasmin in a blend as a background, but if it is tangible in the first row, I might want to pass on it.

The jasmine isn't at the forefront here, but if you're somewhat sensitive to it, you may feel like you're getting a blast of it, mainly because it's a beastly performer. Who said it's gone after four hours? The majority of PD users seem to get above average performance out of it, and I personally seem to get 12-15 hours longevity-wise, myself. Thanks for commenting though, Ted! =]

I think it’s great you talked about the value of the scent. Luca Turin gave a rather rude trashing on this house in general (on his blog) and I’m now even more intrigued to sample this one.

Turin's destroyed this brand repeatedly, yes. If he knows something we don't know about the value of certain aromachemicals, and he's factoring that into how he scores them, that's one thing... But I do think that Xerjoff are excellent storytellers as far as how they execute it all in the end, and this one in Pikovaya Dama might be the best. And yes, value needs to be mentioned because it's on everyone's mind, yet not all critics mention it, sadly... But with the target market of this scent and its execution in mind, I really do think it outdoes Clives and Rojas in the same genre, so I have to give it props. Thank you as always, my friend! =]
