G`day Sam. I`ve been missing in action for a few weeks. Cutting down my own trees, stumps yet to come. Maybe if I look pathetic enough a male neighbour will offer to do it for me! But alas the men here all have one leg in the grave and the other on a banana skin. Today`s message was very interesting and bears a lot of thought. Your photography is getting better and better. Where on earth was the camera when you were using the chain saw on the first logs? amazing footage. I like the way you are doing the videos with a full days work. Gives us some idea of how much effort goes into this job. p.s. You really need to grow a money tree !! Blessings from Oz.
@tristardiggin Жыл бұрын
I've been wondering where you have been. Sounds like the men are in bad shape over there. May be on your on with the stumps. 😳 When a message provokes some thought that is a good thing. It challenges us to dig in the word a little deeper. I certainly appreciate the encouragement on the video quality. I'm learning more each video, trying to get better. The camera was on the end of the saw with a magnet mount. That turned out to be an excellent view. A money tree would be sweet! Thanks Margaret and I always look forward to your comments... Sam

That 308 is a nice strong machine! CAT loves their parts! 🤣

Yup, I really like the 308. It does a great job. You would think as much as a CAT machine cost you would get a discount on parts! 😫🤣

$12,500? Oof! Cat parts ain't any cheaper than Bobcat parts. The center hydraulic swivel on my excavator started leaking and the left track was weaker than the right one. I priced it from Bobcat and it was $1581. I bought it from ConEquip for $1100 shipped to my house. From what I've been told from someone I trust, the one I bought was made by the same people that made the OEM part. Nice message brother.
@tristardiggin Жыл бұрын
Yup, OEM stuff is crazy high. The company I bought this stuff from said their parent company makes undercarriage parts for big names and the big names put their name on them. Sad to say but it's all a money racket. But we have to have it and they know it... Glad you enjoyed the message.

That tip you had about putting the reciever on the lift arm was great! Definitely going to try that...
@blackdogexcavator21 Жыл бұрын
@Tristar Diggin' it works great. You just have to be mindful of where you set up the laser so the receiver will pick it up. I love that thing.
@smithworx1091 Жыл бұрын
Well you got it looking good. But I'm salty about it. You get to burn and I don't 🤣 side note. What drone do you have? And would you choose a different one now or keep the same? Might be good video content...
@tristardiggin Жыл бұрын
Thanks, it turned out nice. I have 2 more videos to do from there. The last one will have a little challenge for you in it. 🤔😁 I'm using the DJI Mini Mavic 2. I really like it. If I were buying a new one I would look at the Mini 3 pro it has a built-in screen with the controller. Hooking up your phone each time you use the Mini 2 is a bit aggravating. I would probably do a lot more drone video if I had the built-in screen. As long as you stay at a weight of 249 grams or below you don't have to have a drone license...

@Tristar Diggin' thanks bro. I look forward to it!

New to the channel and enjoy the content. I like the daily progress, but I think a good mixture of both styles may be best. Just curious, do you always work alone? If so, why?
@tristardiggin Жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel and I appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks for the feedback on the video. That is probably a good way to do it, mix it up a bit. I always work by myself. Less stress and no drama! 😁 It would be nice at times to have help. But the negatives outway the positives.

Hey Sam that squeak you’re hearing… is it a squeal squeak like metal on metal? Or is it a scratchy kind of squeak like some thing abrasive? Because when I put my new tracks on my skid loader I had an abrasive squeak that I just couldn’t get to go away and it sounded like a piece of gravel but there was no gravel in sight. Until I pulled off that rear idler to inspect it and I found about a handful of gravel in there stuck in some dirt. And that’s what was making the squeal. Hopefully you find something like that maybe you can return one of those parts and get your money back
@tristardiggin Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. It is a squaking kind of sound. It goes like this "squak" "squack" "SQUACK"! 😫🤣 I couldn't help that it just came out... Once I get it lifted and the track off I should be able to roll the idler and rollers. Should feel the grinding to figure out which it is.
