What a thrill it would be if the ivory billed woodpecker was still around. Pileated is beautiful as all birds.❤❤❤

What type of food is he enjoying? I often see one up in my neighbor's tree but I haven't been lucky enough to have him come to any of my feeders. I do get a lot of Downy, and Red bellied though. This is very cool to see.

I have the same scenario and question. I see them in our woods, but they won't come closer.

Nice set-up for viewing. First time visiting. 👍 What the feed in the vertical rack? Suet, I am guessing, but a particular blend?

How do you keep squirrels from your bird feeders. My bird feeders are destroyed in a few days by squirrels. I've tried several types but squirrels are very smart.

One pileated destroyed my tree in two days. 3 separate cavities, forearms big.

Gosh it's great to see the different woodpeckers! What were the little tawny colored birds with the black and white striped wings on the feeder to the right of the suet feeder arnd 3 mins?

Looks like an American Goldfinch to me, but somebody correct me if they think otherwise.

Love pileates. But somethings about seeing them in such a contrived setting.

You haven't seen anything until you've experienced a pileated rip bark off a dead pine. With debris flailing left and right it looks like a machine attacking the tree !!!!

She has heft. Much bigger and heavier than the other birds.
