I was out adventuring, hunting, looking for a challenge. then I stumbled apon...HIM. I got into position, making sure I had a good distance from my opponent to beat him as fast as possible. I shot my prism staff, and the battle began. "ill just spam my staff and dodge around, then my victory will be assured!" I foolishly said to myself. the battle raged on, dodging bullets, missing magic. eventually I began to retreat as I was low on health. "ill use that teleporter over there to escape and heal!". i turned my back on my opponent who was known as the Highway Son...........Bad Move. (also w Professor Layton music again)

The instakill move only happens if you do something he doesn't like. For example if you try to run away, you get beamed. The yellow circle shows when you're in danger and means you need to get closer. Also he doesn't like multiple people fighting him. If you join in during the fight he'll kill you, and sometimes he glitches and does it even if all players were there from the start. Basically he forces you to fight a fair 1v1. It's not as bad as it seems since he's fairly easy to parry once you learn the timing. Equip rally aced to absolutely bully the shit out of him.

@@thewaffleeater1221 as far as my testing showed, even when I ran away it never triggered as long as I kept damaging him, and if I'm right at his face not attacking I die, it could have something to do with if it's a melee weapon or not but that's all I know

Just a heads up: Highway sons "bad move" attack will bug and cause him to do it even if you are not running away/doing a range cheese ending the whole fight and hours of progress

the reason as to why highway son does this attack is for 1 of the 2 reasons. -you attacked him but you stopped attacking after a while (takes around 15 seconds) -another dude attacks highway son after you hit him highway son is super simple to beat with a ranged build while staying still. because of his attack pattern fighting him goes like this. shoot parry shoot shoot parry parry shoot. repeat until second phase where more parrying is done

Btw sendo, you don't need to 2v1+ the boss to feed into the one-shot, "bad move" will only proc if you keep a distance or attempt to cheese the boss with walls, getting up close will prevent him from ever using that attack, you get an indicator of when you're in danger of the one-shot move when a white circle pops around your feet.

Bro I literally soloed highway son in like 5 tries having never attempted to beat him before, this was after the update, I don’t know why people are having so much trouble with him, I’m not even a parry god or anything, I just equipped the sandpod crown so I can dodge attacks and hit better when I use heavy and I killed him just like that. And before I killed him I consistently got him down to around 200 HP before he killed me with his light spear ability, I seriously don’t understand how people struggle to kill him so much, there was literally a group of like 3 people who kept trying to kill him and they failed every time.

believe it or not shroomerang is actually very good on frostburn builds due to the weapon with frost gem being able to instantly proc the freeze effect for extra damage and stun with the crit

just to heads up...his bad move skill can be parry somehow...but it take highest damage like 43 damage...cannot escape with that you know...can't stay far away from him even player wanted to join the fight will died instantly

Highway son is kinda easy. Hear me out the highway son's moves can get parried except the bad move one and i think you can survive the bad move with a lot of i frames like king sandpod crown. If you have a melee that's a heavy that takes long to hit you can use that

clever tome is pretty op again tbh heres a build if u wanna make a video or something: build is: magic patient clever tome full witch set mana harmonizer nerd glasses bloody tear blood chalice monk beads it gives swiftness 8 for 21 seconds, revit 5.3 for 13 (heals around 6.6% hp per tick) and str5.3 for 19 (20-25% dmg buff) you could use blood gem but its not worth it tbh barely changes anything (str and revit go from 5.3 to 5.43)

Sendo, do a hardcore run. It's easier than you think. With a lot of luck, you can go from 1 to 30 in 40ish minutes. I tried it myself and ended up soloing an outrageous Shock Marauder for items. It's fun, trust me.

There are way too many nerfs in this update thats very unnecessary, no one uses maimed crudge as its bad as it is, power locket is alright for builds like one punch man but otherwise having to constantly parry for that next hit damage boost isn't really useful unless your sporting a weapon thats meant to do a heavy amount of damage in a single hit, so the nerf just fucks it up entirely, and kai's blessing reduced to -50% when procked now? What the fuck? 25% was harsh but reasonable, you could barely regen or do enough damage to make it effective and it would be more of a quick small damage or escape situation, but 50%? Thats just made it useless.
