Man! So envious of the flat land! Farm land is awesome for astrophotography! Great video!

I'm going to go after this target tonight and use the D1 and then D2 Askar filters. I have yet to use them as I have only had them a couple of weeks now, so we shall see how it goes. My scope is an Edge 8 with reducer with the ASI294mc pro and I'm out in SE Utah under bortal 3/2 sky's. I may spend two nights as needed, but you have inspired me to give it a try. Thanks and Cheers from Utah ! ;-) ( I will add you to my subscribed list ! )😀

Excellent end result! You did an amazing job with it.

Hey! Love the video. There is a script that automatically extracts data from both HaO3 and S2O3 filters called DBXtract. After DBE, just run it and point it to the HaO3 and S2O3 images respectively and sit back while it creates the Ha, O2 and S2 greyscale images. It can even produce an SHO image if you want.

I do know of it yes but sometimes I do my own weights for each channel from time to time

Praise and a question. First the praise - Amazing image!!! As always, a wonderfully clear video! Great job!! Now the question: I have virtually the same rig as you - just a coincidence because I bought most of it a year ago: same telescope, same mount, same tripod, same camera, same focuser, same ASI Air Plus, same filters; similar guide scope (mine is the Svbony 50mm), guide camera, focal reducer, filter wheel. My question is this: ZWO says to use a counterweight if your rig weighs more than 13kg. My rig - and I assume yours - weighs almost half of that (7.2kg). But you are using counterweights. First - why? Do you use it out of fear of falling over (I saw you lost a rig that way). Really curious. Second, what counterweights do you use? Finally, does this help your guiding? Thanks for reading this and a great video. Looking forward to your response.

Small world haha. I do use a counterweight to have a bit of equilibrium since my rig is about 23lbs. And yes a bit gunshy after my ioptron took the tumble. Funny enough the counterweight bar and the very small 2kg counter weight came off a mount that was on a orion starmax 90. I did find that adding that counter weight my guiding did improve a bit. Average between 0.30-0.60 most of the time.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I'm not quite sure how your rig weighs 23 pounds unless you are counting the weight of the mount. Still, I might try adding a 2kg weight. By the way, I envy you your skies - I live in New Hampshire and am surrounded by trees. Mostly I film through openings between them until the object gets high enough to clear them. Congratulations on your move and marriage. Once again, I always enjoy your processing videos and have learned quite a bit from them. Thanks!

I have a fairly heavy losemandy plate that I use so that adds a bit more to the overall rig.

I’ve got me recently the Askar D2 filter and I already have the L-enhance. So I can make two master files. Wouldn’t it be easier to just use de DBextract script that give you the Ha SII OIII without the need of splitting the channels and using PixelMath? Or is the quality not the same?

I just like to do it manually and it works well when I do so. I can apply my own weights through pixel math and don't seem to have any issues with it. But I'll look into that DBextract because I'm not that familiar with it
